Ged's eyes turned to Pitch, the tall dark being who was looking absent-mindedly at his nails.

A serious air shifted about the shape-changer, and he found a snarl running along his face.
"I will happily aid you, old friend."

At last my eyes open and glare down Pitch, "Let us end this!"

Being 70 years Topher's senior, Enzo possessed not only impressive abilities but refined ones at the cost of a decrepit state. I had to end my fights quickly in order to triumph now.

Before I could best my foes in any time frame that was appropriate. Ahh youth...

"Don't get in my line of sight right now."

Pitch clearly was not bothered by the appearance of the shapeshifter, who stood at the ready, behind Enzo, his running scar giving off an unearthly glow that even rivalled that of the surrounding area.

However, when it came to the older man opening his eyes, the Boogeyman visibly winced, and took a step back.
"Come now, you wouldn't do this to me? The one who held so faithfully to your deal...?"

Ged hesitated.
"... Enzo-?"

"Oh, he didn't tell you? Well, well..." Pitch sneered, to Ged before gazing to the evil-eye user. His hands flexed, as he readied his darker powers, to call up the weaker who had been changed to his own creations.
"...What a good friend you are, Enzo. I can assure you, I only planned on darkening part of the world, for my personal feeding, if you held up your side. But I'm afraid, Boniface..... that now, all bets are off.."

"I'm afraid you get none of it." I run towards him as fast as my aged body could manage to try and get a closer view. Luckily the light from the crystals aided this greatly. That was the fundamental reason why I designed this place that way, in case an invader somehow got through, they would be easy prey before my eyes.

"I've come to that conclusion."

Pitch gave a jerking wince away from Enzo, as if to duck into darkness; a feat he nearly pulled off it wasn't for the blinding light surrounding them.

For a moment, the man stumbled, but he quickly regained his footing as he opened his arms up, a cruel grin spreading his lips.
His voice was casual, though he was feeling rather anxious about this new situation.
"Uh oh.... Raul, friend, I think you might need to come and... convince... Enzo of something--"

Coming from the hallways, I step in front of Pitch and bow my head in respect, "What might I do for you?"

Ged, completely confused with all of this new phenomena, glanced between the three nearby.
He held a gun, but did not raise it.


Pitch, on the other hand, gave a small cackle.
"Divert Enzo's gaze, my boy. After all, it's rude to stare."

Raul: "Of course sir!" I step in front of Enzo, unafraid, "You never believed in me, but you spared the runt! How dare you, you elderly hypocrite!"

Enzo: "Raul... what has befallen you?"

The boogeyman gave a long, guttural and pleased purring sound.
His jagged teeth pressed together in an amused grin, as he opened the cloak by his feet.

A small shadow, bothered clearly by the light, stepped out. The shape of a bony-kneed girl crawled out, like the figures of want and ignorance from the robe of Christmas Present.

Ged's eyes widened instantly, the hand that held the gun trembling.
"C-... Cynder? W-What did you do-?"


The Boogeyman grinned and laughed, shaking his head.
"... oh, what a fearling can do..."

"Is that...?" having only met Cynder once, I had little knowledge of her family life.

Pitch grinned darkly, setting his long-fingered hands on the girl's shoulders.
Daisy looked blankly ahead. She was bruised, her pale skin blotched with black and blue. Bite-marks trailed down her neck and shoulders.

The likeness of her sister was uncanny.
Ged faltered, but did not say anything. The shock on his face was enough.

The Nightmare King laughed darkly and dug his nails into the girl's shoulder. She did not wince as blood began to ooze from his grip.

"Oh you don't remember, Enzo?"
Daisy lifted an arm to show the evil-eye user her veins. They were dark, pulsing with the power of the fearlings inside of her.
"Fearlings are such interesting creatures. They can really make one see the... shadow in life..."

"You fiend..." I look to him in disgust, but Raul looks to Diasy as a sister.

Ged was obviously stunned.

His gun was raised, but Pitch was literally using Daisy as a shield. He held her firmly in front of him.
She clearly was battered from whatever he had been doing to her.


"Now, Enzo. Let's rethink this. Or shall I call out others?"

I turn to Ged, as though imploring him what I should do.

The shapeshifter looked torn.
He glanced to Enzo, then to Daisy.

His heart was tugged toward the girl, thinking it still was his beloved niece.

"Enzo, give him what he wants..."



"That's it"

I look back to Ged, "Speak..." But I still sensed malicious intention... but that could just be the harm he'd done to the girl.

Pitch's grin never stopped widening, tearing his face in two in the pure evil amusement.

"Power, Enzo. I want power. Just a little slot of the world... big enough to feed... to... mm, start up again with life..."

Unexpectedly I run into the hall, "Don't believe 'im guys! He's full of it!"

Pitch's eyes narrowed, considerably, as Ged turned to see Topher.

"Well, if it isn't Christopher Noir. I would suggest you shut your street rat mouth before you get nightmares for the rest of your days."

"That ain't Cynder. Chimmy told me all about it!"

Ged was instantly interested.
His eyes flashed to Topher, and he frowned.

"-What?"

Pitch snarled.
"I said shut up, boy-"

"That's her twin, Daisy! She wanted to wreck Cyn's life!"

I turn to Pitch, and smirk at him, "Sorry, I don't follow rules..."

The gun was cocked, and Ged's eyes were staring at Pitch once more.

The Nightmare King snarled, lips curling to show his jagged, pointed teeth.
"You'll regret that.... Raul, call the others, will you?"
