Erik did not hesitate, at Enzo's request, and politely stepped in, head bowed.
"Yes, Master Boniface?"

The Nightmare King put on a sympathetic expression, stepping nearer to the opposite, frowning.
"Such a shame... do you know what Enzo has planned for people like you, though? You should less sad... and more scared..."

Enzo: "Would you please bring in Christopher Noir, and afterwards, you can go rest." It was inexplicable why I take such comfort in the him especially when I had my own grandson here.

Raul: "he... must have his reasons."

(( I hate being so sick that I forget entire words. ))

The boy nodded, thanking Enzo quietly, and moving off to fetch Topher.

"Young Master Topher..? Master Enzo wishes to see you.."

"His reasons are his beliefs.." Pitch spoke in a dark tone, voice dripping with contempt.
"You are weak. Pitiful. Nothing to him. But with me...? Oh, you can be so much more."

Topher: "he's not gonna try to force that 'nature' crap on me is he?"

Raul: "No. If Master Enzo sees me as weak, than that is what I am."

Erik gave a shrug, crossing his arms.
"I'm afraid I do not know, Topher..."

Pitch frowned.
"Your pathetic master is the weak one.... he's near death.... and with his eyes or not, he's no where near superior. Not to me."

Topher: "Well, best not keep 'im waiting..." it wasn't difficult to discern resent in my voice.

Raul: "HERESY!!" I yell out covering my ears.

Erik looked to Topher in concern.
"Topher...?" He asked, "I... What is the world like? How is it set up now? I've always been told we are superior, but... is that how the world is? Is it really ramped with weakness?"

The Boogeyman felt anger boil inside him, and he lunged forward, grabbing Raul's shoulders and shaking him, squeezing and digging his nails roughly into the boy's arms.
"Listen to me, you damned imbicile! You think a mortal is more powerful than the boogeyman? Than fear itself..!?"

Topher: "Well, I never really thought of it in terms of weak or strong. I just see everyone for how they are..."

Raul: "Master Enzo is not a mere mortal..."

"And.... And how is that...?"

"Aug! All you stupid humans! Even with idealistic beliefs, all you do is idolize another mortal! One who will die, give up life!"

Pitch let go of Raul with force, pushing him roughly away from himself.
A ball of black nightmare sand appeared in his hand, and he twirled it about, showing it to Raul.

"Do you have any idea what this might be?"

Topher: "Well sure, there are some bad folk... but most of them are good. And there's no shortage of fun to be had or things to do. You juts need to find your nitch."

Raul: I watch it mystified, "No... what?"

"Find my... nitch..?"
Erik looked thoughtful for a moment, then glanced at his hands.
He enjoyed this lifestyle. But now? He yearned for a view of the world away. Because of what Topher had told him.
"I see. Good luck, with Master Enzo. And Honest... do not believe a word he says. I've had it hammered into my mind already, but... but you're a good man, Topher. Better than us.."

The Nightmare King grinned, and laughed.
"Your downfall.."

He flicked his wrist, puffing the black sand into Raul's face. The enchanted sand would, within moments, force the boy into a sleep. A restless, yet almost inescapable sleep. With Nightmares. And their King.

OOC Okay, gotta admit, that's a REALLY cool power!

Topher: "I'm not better than anyone here. Seriously, you're probably more skilled than me at the eyes.. but thanks for that!"

"Hey, I'll show you around the world sometime..."

Raul: So... drowsy... couldn't stay awake....

(( I'm toning it down from the RotG fandom headcanon and canon, even. Pitch is a pretty cool mofo. I'm glad I brought him here. Weehehe. ))

Erik shook his head, rubbing his arm.
"I'm really not that good. I'm the weakest of us who can actually control our powers...."

He looked to Topher, hopefully.
"-... Would you..?"

Pitch threw Raul into a subconscious black pit. A pit of horror and darkness.
His echoing laugh sounded about the boy, as he was trapped in the blackness.
Enzo stepped out, his words ringing true and clear, the words that he had told Pitch. That the Nightmare King had been told to cause nightmares on the weaker.
That Raul was one of them.
That Enzo did not care for them.

"Poor, Poor Raul..."

Raul: I'm left in fits of screams and wails of sorrow.

Topher: "You got it! In fact, why don't ya come in with me... I'll see if I can get us both out.."

Screams and terror!

What a sweet meal!

Pitch devoured and welcomed it hungrily, circling the boy in his dreams, his jagged teeth gleaming as he grinned.
At one point, he stepped up, and sunk his nails into the boy's shoulders, holding him firmly as the same words from Enzo echoed over and over like a broken record.
"Listen, Raul," He hissed, silkily, into the boy's ear, "... listen to him talk. Worthless... trash.... nothing.... that's all you are to him.... why be that? Why settle for garbage? You can live forever, you know.... painless... sorrowless... fearless.... forever."

Erik perked up, looking amazed, interested, but nervous.
"Do you think that would be okay...?"

OOC Is Raul capable of rational thought or is that basically gone?

"Yeah, I mean, Enzo said I was to be treated like him so technically if I said you can come in, it's fine... I think."

(( It's just like a Lucid dream, I would assume. He's capable of thought, and when he realizes that it is just a dream, he can fight it. In a way. Though Pitch still benefits ))


Erik thought, and then nodded.
"A-all right..! Thank you, really, young Master Topher..!"

Raul: Despite the screams, I can help but feel some shred of indignation wash over me. Enzo didn't care. And this creature offers me power.

"Speak..."

Topher: "Ah ah ah..." I shake my head, "None of this master stuff..."

Pitch's grin grew, his eyes narrowing in joy. He spoke silky, prettied-up and hard to detect lies.
"It's just a small price..... just accept the darkness, that is all.... you can be my prince. Second in command...."

Erik laughed half upset, and shook his head.
"Sorry, Topher. Thank you, really..."

Raul: "How...?"

Topher: I chuckle a bit, "Hey it's no problem man!"

A small black creature formed in Pitch's hand, from the shadows.
It had wide, staring, white eyes. Blank eyes.
It gave a chitter, a moan, twisting it's shadowy form and clutching it's spindly fingers around Pitch's thumb and peeking out from behind his fingers.

"You see this...? It is a fearling... accept it, Raul... let it overwhelm you... and allow me... to take over..."

The cultist's eyes were wide, excited, though he was unnerved.
"Well, we... we shouldn't keep him waiting, then..?"

Raul: I extend my hand out to it unflinchingly.

Topher: "Guess not..." I open up the door to Enzo's chamber and hold it open to him.

Pitch gave a low, dark cackle, as the fearling shot out when Raul extended a hand.
The creature instantly curled around his arm, clicking, groaning, screaming, before whisping up to his face, forcing it's way into his mouth, like a serpant trying to choke, trying to crawl into the pits of the soul through the throat.

Pitch laughed, taking a few steps back, relishing in the view, in whatever sounds of agony or fear were to escape the boy's lungs.
"Oh! How I've missed this! So many years, I haven't been able to hear such pathetic humans turn into fearlings! And honestly, you're all so gullible..! Ahahaaa~ Oh, it has been very pleasant, feeding from your fear... and now, I get a servant...!"

The man forced the darkness in the dream to become heavy, suffocating, cold, like the suction of space he had known so many years ago.
"Oh fight it, boy! Struggle! I love to hear the fighting..!"

Erik nodded thankfully to Topher and slipped inside the room, glancing to Boniface nervously, bowing.
"sir-"

Raul: I struggle against the infinite tidal wave of black crushing me. I knew I should embrace this but self preservation does not yield to logic as I fruitlessly scream and struggle.

Enzo: "Erik... this is unexpected... but I'm thankful for thine presence."

Topher: "Enzo... I'm outta here."

Oh, what a wonderful feeling!
What great, wholesome fear!

Pitch threw back his head, laughing, relishing in the screams as the fearling began working its way into Raul.
The man did not care for the darkness, for it's effects. It was something he was too used to. Too knowing of.

He stepped forward, stalking around Raul, jagged and pointed teeth showing in his grin.
What elating fear! Oh, he had not heard those wonderful, pleasing screams since the end of the Golden Ages, when he could easily turn the children into fearlings, into the mere lowly shadows.

He reached a long-fingered hand out, more shadows twisting inbetween his fingers.
"... stupid boy... you think I would give you power...? Allow you to rule alongside me...? Aahahahah! Oh, how foolish...."

Erik did not say anything to Enzo, until after Topher had spoke.
He had not expected his opposite to speak in such a way, but he went along, quietly, respectfully.

"I, too, sir, am unsure of these... uhm... ideals... and I wish to live a peaceful life on the surface world."
