My smile wavers a bit. "If she starts circling, let me know. She might be an immortal fox thing or whatever you guys are, but I'm not taking any shit from her."

'Not immortal.' he corrected her, his smile now tinged with sadness. 'Nothing lasts forever, and kitsunes certainly don't. 1000 years tops usually.'

"I don't know how Phoenix puts up with the normal romantic crap, if you ask me. I wouldn't be able to tolerate it much more than once in a while. But hey, that's her thing." I shrug. "Me and her, we're like polar opposites sometimes."

"Pretty much the only thing me and Phoenix share are our looks, and even then we have our differences." I gesture at my eyes; mine are brown, hers are blue. I smile a little. "We make each other better. That's what sisters are supposed to do, right?"

'apparently. I'm not exactly a family planner, or have family of my own, so i really wouldn't know.' he'd only observed, and most of the time families just argued incessantly with each other.
