She pretended she couldn't hear them talking, grabbing a random book and scanning the first page but not taking any of the words in. This should be...amusing.

'And where were you when you came back? When i'd been arrested? nowhere! you left ME!' there was tears forming in the corners of her eyes, and she tried to blink them back but it wasn't working.

She carefully let her hands roam his stomach, over the spot where the bellybutton should be. 'Just because you weren't born like us, doesn't mean you're not one of us.' she whispered to herself, musing on her own words.
