'We've barely spoken since he proposed to me, i don't know..' she cast her eyes down to her silver ring again, wondering if her marriage meant she'd lose all of her independance.

He snorted. "Sounds like the perfect engaged couple." He sat down in his seat, lounging back and propping his feet up on a table.

'It's not his fault, i've been fairly busy myself.' she suppressed a snicker as she picked a small fleck of blood from underneath her fingernails. 'You could probably guess what I've been doing.'

He looked away and then back at her. "Meh, I don't know and I don't really care." His thoughts turned to Lethe. She would understand his situation better, having been there herself. He recalled their kiss yesterday. Granted he only kissed her to get information out of her, but she definitely seemed interested in him.

'Bullshit.' she hissed, finding it strange she was now the one kicking the vase back into tiny shards. 'Don't you lie to me Ahriman.' Ignoring the small trickles of blood forming on her skin, her gaze was slightly harsh, attempting to conceal her hurt.

He smirked. "What's got your panties in a bunch?"

She hesitated, slightly confused herself. Or rather, in denial.
'N-Nothing! you know what i'm like, violent on a whim!' she tried to justify her actions, feeling hot liquid bubble to the surface of her skin.

Some of the shards had dug into her flesh, crap.

He saw right through her lie, but decided to just leave it be. "Oh, right. How could I forget?" He walked up to her. "Are you okay?" he motioned to the blood.

'Fine..' she looked uncertain, her voice lowering as she asked her question.

'I..can't get the shards out myself. Can you do it?' Sydnay pointed to the multiple cuts, they wouldn't stop bleeding unless they were pulled out.

He began picking shards of glass out of her flesh, piece by piece. When all of the glass was removed he cast a simple healing spell to heal the cuts. "There. Better?"

She barely inhaled as he had done so, only giving his hand a small squeeze through this process. 'Yes, thank you.' Sydnay's smile was actually warm for once, revealing the small ounce of kindness she possessed.

He smiled back. "Don't go and break anything else, got it?" He repaired the vase again. Hopefully that would be the last time he did so today.

'I promise not to, unless it's someone's spine.' she gave him her usual malicious smirk, before letting it fall for a moment. The girl radiated an air of uncertainty.

'Can i tell you something Ahriman? About William?'

He nodded. "Sure."

'When we're together, it's perfect, i couldn't ask for anything else. But when we're apart..' she hesitated, inhaling sharply. 'It doesn't feel right, our relationship is almost cold. I'm just expected to be satisfied with never seeing him.'

she cut to the chase. 'I love him, more than i ever thought i could love someone. But i still love you too, Ahriman.'

She kept her gaze on the floor, rising to her feet. 'And that'll be the death of me.' Sydnay gave him another hug, clinging tighter than usual. She almost seemed afraid.

Without another word, she fled into the girl's dorm, ignoring the tears slipping from her eyes. Sydnay was just too damn confused.

I run into the common room, tears sliding freely down my face as i curl up in a chair.

He came down from the boy's dormant saw River there crying on a chair. The jackass in him told him to walk away. However, he couldn't block out the sound of her tears. He closed his eyes and sighed. He walked down to her. "What's wrong Riv?"

"Okay!" he replied rather cheerfully. He began walking to the door of the common room.

He paused and turned around. "You actually broke up with him? I thought you loved him. Let me tell you, he sure loved you."
