Her heart decided to race in her chest for a tentative moment as she reached up and placed her finger on the side of his mask questioningly. 'May I...?'

Her own expression was soft, kinder and younger as she gazed at him, hazel eyes unblinking and calm. She was devoid of her usual stoicness and seriousness.

If it had been anyone else, Descole would have winced away. Would have pulled away and given them a good attack right back. But he didn't.
Instead, he nodded slightly.

"Go on..."

The man blinked for a moment, his stormy grey eyes looking right at Cayden.

They were expressive eyes, gentle and yet glistening with things from all those years past. From the pain of knowing death to the gentleness of love itself.

And surrender. Complete and utter surrender, a willing knowledge that he had allowed another living person to actually take his mask off- something that he never allowed before.

"My eyes must look tired.."

Jean sighed quietly, smiling slightly, his eyes softening.

"You know, so are yours. They suit you well..."

Descole turned his face away, scowling slightly.

"They say the eyes are the windows to the soul. I can't have enemies seeing into me like that."

A pause, he knew that wasn't the fullness of it.

"Clare gave it to me when I first got my job here. Said it was best that I kept my face and appearance a secret, in case anything happened. I used to only wear it for missions- but after... after the explosion at the lab, I don't know. It just became a force of habit. I couldn't let go.."

Descole remained quite calm, quiet before shrugging.

"It doesn't matter is no one else does. I prefer to not let my enemies look into my eyes.."

Jean blinked slightly at her touch, his heart picking up it's pace.

"And I'm glad you're not my enemy, either."

A small shift, Descole watched Cayden with silent, wary eyes. And yet, he was almost glad to have his mask off.

The man gave a soft sigh, a small moan as he kissed her back before pulling away quietly, smirking.

"Dashing..? Now, now, I wouldn't call myself that.."

Her wry smile reformed on her face. 'I would.' she returned his expression with ease, threading her fingers betwen his. 'I would call you very dashing indeed Jean.'

A crooked grin, Descole chuckled deep in his throat, raising a hand to Cayden's face, stroking her cheek with his thumb, his eyes soft.

"Well, I'm glad someone thinks so. As for yourself, you are a very, very beautiful woman.."

'Why thank you.' she couldn't stop staring at his eyes, taking in their intense complexity still, it really was a shame he hid them from everyone else...

'Am I Beautiful and professional?' she raised an eyebrow hopefully.

Descole smirked, moving his hand and running his fingers through her hair, smiling softly.

"You are both, yes... hair up... or down..."

Descole chuckled again, smirking, looking into her own eyes, feeling his heart beating like a drum in his chest.

"Why would I have to choose?"

She rolled her shoulders in a shrug, leaning towards him and planting her mouth on his again, more fiery than last time.

Descole smirked slightly, kissing her back with passion that had been suppressed before.
He pulled her closer to him, his heart racing and his mind reeling.

This impossible woman...

Betty walks in like -awkward turtle hand gesture-
shes leaving for the marines on monday, shes getting sentimental.

This man had been out of anyone's reach for so long, and she'd brought him back, only her. Her fingers entwined in his hair, mouth still latched onto his.

Warmth seeped into Descole's frozen heart, thawing it with such overpowering heat that it almost hurt.
The man inhaled deeply before slowly separating the two again, smiling quietly, softly.

"You know, I wonder what your daughter would make of this.."

her: 'i know, i'm fabulous'

Her breathing had become more heavy before stepping back herself. 'I'm sure she'd say that she's glad I'm not being such a serious and stoic old bat all the time.' Cayden smirked widely.
