Flame Cottage

A fortune, albeit unplanned duck to get a better look made him miss but now I turn toward him, "Oh no, enter the parents..." I say mockingly.

"Just drop down, sweetie!" Karen called up to Hazel. "I'll catch you!" Too afraid to stay up there a moment longer, Hazel let go so her mother could slow her fall, and then lower her to the ground.

"You're outnumbered," Anthony informed him. "Phoenix and Pixie will be here in moments. This is your last chance to leave freely, Crouch."

"You know, that sounds like a pretty good offer, but I was never one to take the easier route. Crucio!"

Karen took her daughter further back from the cottage. She felt a pang of guilt for not helping her husband, but her assistance was needed with Hazel.

Anthony's shout choked off into pained gasps. He tumbled to the side, using the doorframe for support.

I look around as I gaze down at the pained man without any pity or remorse, "What a lovely home you have... kind of sorry I have to burn it down."

I stop a consider for a second, "Actually who am I kidding? No I'm not." I set the door on fire.

((The irony here is absolutely killing me.))

The twins arrived then, and both ran upstairs to give their father backup. Pixie doused the fire (she expected Crouch to start it up again, but she needed to get into the room), then actually pushed Phoenix back upon arriving, shoving her towards Anthony while she went to face Crouch herself.

Phoenix had to admit, her sister had a point. Her hatred for Crouch was so fierce that she'd probably do something she'd regret - again. She crouched beside her father to check him over while Pixie strolled over to Crouch.

"You know, Phoenix always said that you hadn't changed," Pixie commented.

I grin insanely at the new prey that offered itself to me, "If it isn't broke, don't fix it..."

Phoenix helped Anthony to his feet, but he wobbled, so she stayed with him for longer to make sure he was alright.

Pixie quirked an eyebrow. She drew her wand and flipped it almost casually. "How good was your plan? How many people did you trick, huh?"

I give a shrug, "I fooled enough to let me back in, and that was the only true objective of that. But then I came to a realization. "

"Everyone at school might be used to my fun by now. I needed a larger audience... Someone yet unexposed to it. I remembered you had a little sister and came by for a visit!"

Pixie determinedly ignored the growl that rumbled from Phoenix behind her.

"Oh, I see," she said instead, "tryin' to hurt an innocent kid makes everythin' better, right? I should've seen that one comin' from you, to be honest."

I laugh that same laugh that seemed to linger in the ears of all even once the sound had died, "I don't want to HURT her. Oh no, no. No. What I have in mind is much more fun."

"I suppose you could call it... Remodeling her in my image. Who knows Phoenix, if I'm nice I may even add... Shall we say, wolffish pieces of you in there?"

It was lucky that Anthony was back on his feet; he had told hold Phoenix back then, even though all she did was take a step forward. All of the Flames knew what she could be like if she was let loose on an enemy far too well. Mortem Macnair was just one example.

"Not a good idea, at all," Pixie commented. "Terribly unoriginal."

"I fear you misunderstand me, but not to worry, you will. After all, I'll invite you two to the grand finale..."

"I won't kill her, no I have a far more fun idea in mind."
"I hope you're ready Phoenix!" I laugh insanely and jump out of the nearest window, and slash my wand so the wind catches me and lowers me down.

"Go!" Anthony shouted out of the window. Anthony and Pixie were forced to take the stairs (Pixie cursed her leg the whole way) while Phoenix jumped after Crouch, landing catlike on the ground.

"Run!" Phoenix repeated louder. "Get to safety! Go!"

"Run run fast as you can, you'll not catch me, I'm the Crouchy man!" I sing sarcastically as I give pursuit to the child.

Karen ran with Hazel, urging her on.

Anthony and Pixie darted around the house to catch up with Phoenix, who was already running after Crouch with grim determination. It was probably one of the few times Phoenix had cursed the lack of a full moon, but then again, that would also work against her; Crouch would have managed to grab Hazel if it had been that time.

As Pixie couldn't keep up, she allowed herself to lag behind. Leaning heavily on her walking stick, she instead cast a patronus. The long-haired cat darted off to seek out her brothers.

"CRUCIO!!" Yelled the madman as he pointed his wand at Karen.

OOC: What's the point of having a badass family if you don't call them in for help?

Karen fell a second time, a harsh cry leaving her throat. Hazel didn't hesitate; she kept running.

Anthony took the opportunity to cast another petrificus totalus at Crouch, but Phoenix simply gritted her teeth and forced herself into a sprint.

Growling, Pixie planted her feet firmly where she stood and waited. "Get your asses over here," she muttered.

As the lunatic laughed at the pain he had caused, he gets hit by the spell, and falls over. But it seemed too... intentional.

Crest is the first to arrive, "What is it?"

Karen hauled herself to her feet and went after Hazel.

Anthony and Phoenix darted over to Crouch, keeping their wands trained on him.

"About bloody time," Pixie snapped. "Crouch, what else d'you think?"

Crest: Without needing another word I run off as Artisan and Artemis arrive and follow him.

Crouch: "Infinite Incantatem..." I mutter and lunge out at Anthony. "Maybe I'm doing the rats a favor by taking you out. After all, you did steal their mother.."

Anthony yelped and fell to the ground. The comment from Crouch was a low blow, and it sent a pang of pain through his chest. "I didn't steal her!"

With a cold expression, Phoenix kicked Crouch between the legs. "Shut it, you. You don't know what you're talking about," she spat.
