Luxia's Inn

He shrugged, "I wish I could be more certain but your guess is as good as mine there. To remove emotion though, that's a very powerful magic..."

He eyed her gravely, "Very dark magic too..."

Terrane's eyes grew wide wite.
"Dark magic? But he always said he never dabbled in magic like that. So he was lying...why? Why lie to us? To his own people?" Terrane rose fast. "This...makes no sense."

"Life seldom makes sense. After all, why is it that beings of infinite power are restricted to the shackles of mankind?" He posed rhetorically. "Some answers cannot be found, but I think yours can.."

"Are you going to assist me?" She asked as a question of fact rather than a question of curiosity.

"Well it certainly wouldn't feel right to me to leave you to this task alone. But I couldn't just leave my inn without proper management..." He pondered on this seemingly impossible quandary until the answer came to him.

He stepped forward and as he did, a second him stayed in place behind him before wandering off to help supervise the inn. "Very well, I'm ready to help..."

Terrane tilted her head at the act of magic but easily shrugged it off. But then a thought came to her head.
"I thought genies couldn't use much magic outside of granting wishes."

"I'd be much obliged if you didn't divulge my... status with many people. I prefer keeping a low profile you understand..." He implored politely as he further explained.

"And conventionally yes, you are completely correct. But I think looking over there will sate your question..." He pointed down the halls of books where a lone pedestal sat alone. Atop it was a golden lamp that had lost it's shine many years ago. Enough care was taken to ensure it didn't crumble into dust but not enough to show true care for it.

Terrane walked over to the lamp, examining it closely with her yellow eyes. She hovered her clawed fingers over its body. "It's..." She looked closer. "This lamp...it looks like one back home on Lemures."

"It has been many a year since that lamp has been to where it was placed..." He reminisced about his former life in which that lamp was heavily apart of.

She shook her head at him
"I mean there is one nearly just like it! I remember my brother found it buried in the Henne Mines. Underneath Fafnir's palace. But he hasn't opened it. I think he is unsure. Would you want to see it? Perhaps it holds answers to my lost emotions."

Interest flashed behind his thick spectacles, "I certainly would like to see it!" Many a year had been spent trying to track down all the lamps and now one was finally within reach. How could he decline?

Terrane stood quickly, flapping her large black wings
"Than we make for Lemures. I will carry you if you have no other means. It is very far." She paused "and very high."

"Oh that won't be necessary, but thank you. Leading the way would be appreciated though..."

Terrane nodded, looking around the library.
"Leading the way would work better were we not inside." She commented

"Fair enough..." He held the door open to her, "It'll change back into a normal room after you step out..."

Terrane stepped through, feeling the magic working around the room as she waited for the door to open again.

He closed the door behind him, reopening it to reveal an average room. "Shall we then?"

"Yes" Terrane nodded as they made their way out into the open space.
