What the hell is wrong with me?

Amaya desperately wanted to outstretch her arms to him, to be back in his embrace again, to just be with Joachim because god, she almost needed him, she'd missed the damn guy. She'd missed him ever since she'd had to go.

'Maybe we're different, maybe we... we aren't as similar as we used to be.' The uncertainty wouldn't leave her voice, visibly frowning at herself. Every word that left her mouth just felt wrong and vile.

'Yeah, if you've done anything with him you may as well dig your grave now.'

"Hey hey hey!!" He grabbed her and pulled her into him, "You can't do this to me! Can't just appear and walk out again like nothin' happened! AGAIN!!" He was starting to get outraged by her sudden flightiness. He needed her just as much as she needed him.

She let herself be pulled back, regarding him with confusion. 'I just can't explain, I... There's just something wrong with me! I want to stay but I don't want you to think I'm going insane, which is likely.' 

Amaya hadn't meant to blurt it out so loudly, mentally slapping herself.

"may, stay and tell me what's up!!"

'I will....' She relented, frowning at herself. She didn't know what to do still.

"So spill! What's the deal?" He was now looking concerned for his girlfriend. He'd never seen her so... shakey. So uncertain.

'I haven't been myself lately, its difficult to describe. Its like I keep forgetting things all the time. Blacking out, even.'

"Well all the more reason to stick here! If you blakc out, we can find out what's botherin' ya!"

She wrung her hands nervously. 'What if I hurt you?' It's the reason she'd kept her distance for so long, not knowing how dangerous she was in such a state.

'What if you do?" He shrugged apathetically, "At least you're better off..."

'I wouldn't forgive myself if i hurt you, especially if i'm practically a zombie as I do it..' She muttered, gritting her teeth, ignoring the frustration building inside her.

I've hurt people for too damn long now, this must be a joke...

"Hey now.." He lifted her chin up to look at her, "We conmen have a very uncanny knack for survivin' tough shit. I'll ride the damn thing out with ya..."

She blinked carefully, feeling the burning sensation in her eyes that came with an onslaught of tears. But she refused to cry.

'How can you trust me? If i'm right about my suspicion, I could end up killing you.' She whispered meekly, not realising how fragile she felt until now.

"Well I don't think you're goin' to. Just tell me what's up so I know what to prep for!" He kept her close to him. After so long without her, he was willing to take on even Chezhekov all over again to keep her.

She took a deep breath, steeling herself for everything she recalled about her recent... episodes.

'It started a couple months back I think. I'd just be out somewhere, doing my usual thing of getting some cash. But there's been a few times where I just have this space in my memory where I remember reading an assignment, memorising the face and then.... nothing.'

Amaya brought a hand to her temple in irritation.
'And then the next thing I remember is seeing blood on my hands. I don't even know if it's mine, or someone else's, but there's a lot of it. I'll be stood in the last spot i remember, but there's so much damn blood that it's pooling at my fe-'

She cut herself off, feeling slightly sick.

"Huh..." Joachim sucked it all in without any judgment. He knew he wasn't Mr. Morality, people did what they needed to.

"Well, what if we go back to one of these spots and see if it happens again? I'll follow you and tell you everything that's happened..."

'It only happens when I'm in public, around lots of people..' She then scanned the inn, fear filling her eyes.

'I can't be here, all these people might get hurt, I can't be here!' She desperately tried to push him away in her panic.

"Okay okay calm down!" He held onto her tight. "Booze cellular, come on!"

She nodded feebly, letting the fear drain out of her body as she forced herself to relax. 'I'm sorry, moments like that have been happening too...'

I'm definitely going crazy

"No worries, we're going to sort this out..." He escorted her down to the cellular which was stocked with stores of alcohol from all different times. 

"Lovely collection isn't it? Half of this is just rebottled average wines, but put it in the right bottles and put on a price tag, you can make a buttload!" He chuckled to try and distract her from her woes.
