Ranting thread

Ok, so at times we all need space to just let off some steam. I, for one, have been feeling like that a lot lately, and I'll admit that's part of the reason for my absence.

And I noticed that there was a lack of a thread like this - or if there was one, I missed it when I trawled through them all - so here it is.

Rant. Write an essay on what's bothering you. Whatever. Just let it all out, and you'll probably feel a bit better. I know I tend to bottle things up and stew over them, and I end up in super shitty moods because of it.

This thread was made for the reason of ranting, and I'm about to break it in.

We've got a troll among us and it's fucking pissing me off.

I ain't gonna sit by while you put down my family. Even though I don't know any of these people in real life, they're my family, and you just pissed off the wrong person.

I hate myself.

there, i said it. And not because i have frizzy hair, or that i'm too clumsy or flatchested. idgaf about those, they just cover up the real reasons.

I hate myself because i manage to guilt trip everyone, even when i don't intend to, just because i'm angry. I hate that i'm a massive hypocrite about everything, that i have very strong opinions which get in the way of my friendships with people.

I hate that i'm gangly and awkward, that i have the ability to fuck everything up somehow. I hate that irl lies flow so effortlessly from my tongue yet the truth always seems to get stuck in a bottle inside my head, because i'm afraid of what people might think of me.

but what i despise most is when people don't see all these flaws irl, they think i'm nice when i'm clearly not. People need to stop seeing things in me that aren't there.

My parents are such hypocrites.

My dad expects me and my siblings to wake up at 6 am every day (save for the weekends) and the first thing we do is clean the house. Each one of us is assigned a "zone" and we have to clean it. Now normally it takes about 15 minutes to clean our zone, but if we're done before 7 my dad throws a hairy (is that the right one?) canary and accuses us of not doing it.

Wtf? He sees us do it. Every fucking day. There's not much to clean when it's done every day. It won't take more than 20 minutes to clean. While he's throwing a fit, every fucking morning the first thing he does is sit on his lazy ass and watch the news till 8. So he does nothing for two hours while us kids clean the house, get dressed, make our beds, feed the animals, and (for my siblings) start school. Sometimes if my mom isn't feeling well we'll make breakfast too.

Now, today, he's yelling at me because I'm still in my pajamas. I'm not going anywhere. I've got nothing going on that requires me to be dressed. He, mind you, is wearing the same shorts and undershirt that he wears every day.

Why the fuck do I put up with this?

So I've wanted to rant about my mum for a while.

For one, she's a fucking clean freak who just wants a clean house so she can mock others for not having so. She's even told me she looks in other people's windows and judges them (she's a courier so she sees a lot of people's houses).

She has ridiculous mood swings; one minute she's yelling at me and putting me in a bad mood, the next she's taking the piss out of me for being in as bad mood. She also takes the piss out of the way I flick the hair out of my eyes...

But, there's also the fact that she does a lot for me (buying stuff, cleaning house up, etc.) and I'm just an ungrateful little shit. She even told me the other day that she was planning to get me Muse tickets but they were too expensive. She even took me to the cinema a few months back to see Ted.

i'm not sure you can be mad at someone who plans to get you Muse tickets.

There are times when I rally hate her but then she comes out with something like that! It's good enough that she knows I like Muse.

All I have to say is wait till your out of your parents house and making it on your own.. you'll appreciate a lot that used to piss you off.. I promise. I'd love to just have chores again and not have to worry about constantly making money.. life is hard and it sucks, but everything you do and have to put up with now shapes you into who you're going to be.. and it always seems like the best people go through the most hardships..

i still live at home and my mum piles on the pressure for me to get a job and money. literally, EVERYTHING i do it's 'you're not earning any money' and then she'll go on about me not having a job, relying on her etc..

oh I know.. I left school at seventeen and I can't even begin to fathom all the annoying shit I've been putting up with since I was a kid... but you can't dwell on all the negative shite.


Parents have tendency to piss us off faster than anyone else I've noticed. It's just what most of them do...

Ok, so im 18. Aka, I am an adult. -waves- I can buy my own stuff (Alcohol) can move out when ever i want to, yet my mum still treats me like a kid. I am far older than my age as well, ive been through so much, im more of an adult than my own mum is.
Yet i got home today from walking the dog and guess what i found. Half the stuff in my room had moved. (yeah, mum thinks im stupid as well). She had gone through my room, reading all my letters....including all my ones from you lot, looked through my bank book, and found other stuff. and she confunts me saying i am keeping secrets from her.
Im sorry. Its my flipping life, not hers. Ive had to hide things from her for years because of what she is like. My GCSE choices? She made me choose french and geography because she didnt think music and drama were 'proper subjects'
I keep things from her so i can live my own life.
