Query's Maze

'Looks like a cell, didn't know you were into that kinda stuff Query..' she snickered, letting her laughter filter up to him. Ace was clearly still slightly woozy from being knocked out, she wasn't used to it.

"Humorous but I'm not that sort of man. Don't consider this a cell. I prefer to think of it as a repair shop. You'll understand in a moment."

I walk out of view and seal the top of the well.

'I'm not the one who needs fixing if i have to hurt people to get them to talk to me.' she was deliberately being abrasive, knowing she wanted to inflict pain on him from her capture.

and mainly out of fear.

Muttering the smallest yet most sincere apology the world over, I pull a level located next to my, for lack of a better term, throne.

Inside her repair shop, the screens come to life showing images of Eagle and me. But there was more.

Each time eagle appeared on the screen, an electric current would be sent through the floor and shock Ace. But each time I appeared, a sweet aroma and healing potion was filtered into the room. This would be an endless cycle until she was fixed.

I can beat this, I'm strong-minded.

Ace had expected something like this, trying to screw her eyes shut against the images, the subliminal smells trying to coerce her into another way of thinking.

'You know I won't be the same after this, i might not even be your equal anymore.' she called out, trying to twist the knife in while she still could.

'At least Eagle didn't have to torture me to get me to love him!' He loves me as I am, and always will do..

Always one to think ahead I had made the top of her prison soundproof as not to hear her taunts.

But how to open her eyes?

"You know, if your eyes don't stay open, the bottom of the cell opens too." I own it a little to show my point. Inside was a series of rotating blades.

She gnawed on her bottom lip, lifting her eyelids ever so slightly. Part of her would rather fall to her death than become his mindless slave, to have her fierce will tampered with.

Ace was even stubborn enough to let her eyes close again, challenging him silently.

'I'd rather die..than be what he wants me to be. I can't believe that asshole once said he accpted me as I am. Hypocrite.' she mumbled to herself, trying to divert her thoughts away from the smells and the jolts in her body.

ooc Ace has a point, Query is a MASSIVE hypocrite.

OOC yes he is, mostly due to how childish he is. It's like a kid saying hell change his ways when he perceives to have done nothing wrong. Hell say the words to get what he wants but won't actually mean them.

Jim snorts. "So this is where the fool lives..." He rolls his eyes.

Chase is silent, his gaze darting back and forth as he takes it in.

As I normally do, now just instinctively. I stay close to Crest, not wanting to go back in there, still exhausted from the first time...

I hold onto Sam and look at them all, "Listen up. This place is filled with puzzles and riddles and other mind games. There are traps, all of which operate around logic and deduction."

Chase nods, bouncing on the balls of his feet. "Simple."

Jim actually giggles. "Oh, Query really is a fool!"

I look at the place, trembling a bit just by looking at it. There's me, the little weakling...

I walk right up to Jim, looking right into his eyes "Do NOT underestimate him."

I gesture to the rest of the group to follow as I walk toward the door.

"Don't underestimate me, dear," he sings, following them. "Query already has."

By this point, Chase is ready to face whatever he has to in order to get to Ace. He doesn't care anymore. He needs to find her and make sure she's ok.
