Artemis is having a trial, Wrath, for helping a Death Eater escape Azkaban.

Just FYI it was inadvertent. He had his wand stolen

ic One Auror crept over to Cayden, whispering in hushed tones into the older woman's ear. For a minute there were frantic exchanges of words, before Cayden rose sharply, dismissing the messenger.

Striding to the judge's seat, she slid into it calmly, speaking carefully.

'We are here for the trial of Artemis Strayer, accused of aiding the escape of a known Death Eater and Prisoner.' Folding her palms together, she continued. 'Now, who wants to go first?' With that statement, she cautiously opened the court to anyone who dared speak.

I look up, opening my mouth and then closing it again.
Come on River. this is your best friend. Say something! i think to myself, as i take a breath.
'Ill sy something.'

Glaring at River, boaring into the depths of her soul, she'd better have something to say for this.

'Proceed.' her eyes travelled the court quickly, checking for disturbances.

'Artemis shouldnt be in that chair. I should' I look around, looking everyone in the eyes. 'It was his wand, but i stole it from him after he arrested my husband. i just...' I take a breath, shaking. 'I wanted revenge. because he had taken something of mine...but i shouldnt have done it.' I shake my head, looking at Arty. 'Im sorry. I really am. i dont want this....If you want to punnish anyone, let him go and punnish me. All Artemis has ever done is his job. I just havent made it easy for him.'

"A noble gesture, for sure... But who's to say the Strayer family didn't set this up?"

"After all, why do they hide from us? Why do we not know the majority of their names? Why do they keep secrets?" I point at Artemis like he was the most horrid sinner.

Knowing she was forced to remain impartial, she nodded stiffly, heeding their words. 'Everyone has secrets in this world, Auror Smith, but..' her eyes trained on River's. 'Miss Seth, were you aware of the consequences of taking an Auror's wand?'

'I didnt care for the consequinces. I just wanted Death.'

"Everyone has secrets, but if we are to conquer the death eater threat, we need to be a united front. And they are not united with us."

you're not united with anyone but corruption. she added silently, lips pressed into a firm line.
'then i have two questions to ask. River, why didn't you use your own wand?'
Her attention turned to Artemis; she'd acknowledged Smith's comment. 'And if you weren't the one breaking Mr Dolohov out, where were you when it happened?'

'beacse they would have known it was mine. at the time, i wanted Artemis in trouble.'

"I was there at Azkaban, but I was beaten by death. Ask auror jones, she can attest to that. But I'm not the one on trial."

ooc derp moment crouch, she asked Artemis where he was when River had taken his wand.

ic She paused, considering. 'The trace is taken off when you're 18..' she mumbled, before proceeding. 'And at the time, Mrs Dolohov, did you not realise the chain would end with you?' Cayden wanted to call on any witnesses, but knew she needed all the details first.

Looking up, still very gloomy and sullen, answers the question that Smith had interrupted, "Owlery, I tried to stop her... I thought she took my wand to stop me, not betray me."

I watch Artemis from where I was sitting my face unreadable as I look at the judges and jury and even flickering a bit towards River before I watch Artemis again-
