St Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injurys

I wake up shaking. I had tunnel vision and my head was throbbing so bad I felt like vomiting. A nurse sat next to me rubbing my hand. She was small with her ash blonde hair tied into a tight bun. Her face was full of sadness. I turned my head slowly toward her and she smiled weakly, trying to comfort me. "Good morning, sweety. How are you feeling? No no, don't answer, I know it hurts. Do you want some water? I can get water, it will help." She rambled, then stood up and dashed out of the room. I look down at my body, they had covered it with a dark sheet. I worried about the reason it was dark. A male nurse entered with a clipboard and a quill dashing across it of it's own accord. "Hello, Miss Malfoy. Good to see you awake. Nurse Galloway will be back shortly, I'm just here to assess the damage from your medical treatment." As he begins prodding me here and there with his wand I grit my teeth to keep from groaning. Instead he groans ever so slightly, he looks up at me with a worried expression then lies through his teeth. "Very good, you may rest now." And he turns sharply on his heel and walks from the room.

-Crouch is laying on a bed-

-Doctor Augustine walks in-

Excuse me, can I ask you some questions on what happened, Miss. Crouch?

i narrow my eyes. 'Possibly...'

Now... we believe we know what's wrong with your brother. Did his magic develop unnaturally early?

'yes...why? what do you mean...what do you think is wrong with him?'

-I nod my head- I expected as much, he's going through "prodigium lassitudine".

I blink. 'pardon? um...in englsih please?'

-I take a glass of water and fill it up to the brime-

Let me explain. Wizards and witches who have premature magical development run the risk of prodigium lassitudine. What that is... -shows the glass- Their magic is exceptionally high and strong for a normal wizard or witch. As such their limitations aren't as small as most.

When a normal wizard exhaust his magic, he would just become tired but would get over it. But when a early bloomer like your brother exhaust his magic, it carries a greater risk...

I suddenly feel dizzy, and lean my hand against the wall to stop myself falling over. 'What risks?'

You see... his magic is so bountiful and high that his body isn't used to it being at such low level -I dip my hand into the glass of water and some pours out-

If he pushed his boundaries too far... he could die.

-I look over to him- But relax, I don't think he did. He's safe. It'll just take him a few days to recover

'You...you had better be right...'

Don't worry... we're fairly certain he will be alright. It's a good think you got him to us when you did though. Another couple of minutes and... well you know.

At any rate, you may talk to him if you want, just make sure he drinks his medicine on the table there -I point to it-

-I walk out-

I walk over to him and sit on the chair. 'Oh crouch, you absolute idiot....'

-I look up and see a girl- Who the hell are you?

i freeze. 'Crouch? please tell me you are...your joking...Its me. River.'

Do not try to deceive me! -I jump out of bed but immediately fall over- I know no River!

In too much shock to even try and help in i say glued to my chair. 'i'm not deceiving you! i'm your sister!'

Crouch: I'm an only child! I have no sister!

-Doctor Augustine walks in- What's going on in here?

i turn to the doctor, tears pouring down my face. 'You said he would be alright! why cant he remember me?!'

DA: Oh that can sometimes happen... mass confusion. Give him him the medicine and that should fix that right up...

Crouch: Stay back! Don't you know who I am?!

DA: Mr. Crouch... please sit down...

I pick up the medicine. 'crouch, please. will you drink this? please?'

Crouch: NO! LEAVE ME ALONE OR I'LL SHATTER YOUR MINDS!!

DA: River... talk about your past. That will probably jog a memory of his...

I frown. 'umm...' I brighten, thinking about a memory we always laugh abiut. 'Ok, so when i was younger, you always looked after me...tryed to protect me from everything. I wanted to learn how to fly, so you went and got your broom, and gave it to me...You told me to stay near the ground, but i didnt, and i fell off. You were so worried...'
