I walk inside, knowing that I was soon to be spotted but this was part of my plan.

"Would you look at that? Don't always have someone who comes out right in the open... but it does make things... interesting.."

Sherlock spoke smoothly, loud enough for Crest to hear, from by the doorway.

I turn around and look at him like a predator sizing up his prey.

Holmes gave the boy a once-over, eyeing him calmly, a side-grin crossing his face.

"... That trick in your room. Clever. Very clever, indeed. I must say, I enjoyed it. Wasn't too dull.."

"Holmes." I say simply. I had heard of the man, but never actually worked with him.

"Strayer.."

Sherlock responded smoothly, smirking and bouncing on the ball of his foot quietly, momentarily.

"I hope you didn't think that the Ministry would be stupid enough to put off hiring me forever..?"

"I knew they'd eventually do it, but I didn't know this soon. They must be desperate upon losing their best." It was difficult for me to sound arrogant, but I put on a convincing performance.

"They're simple people, I must admit I had to... urge... a bit."


Sherlock took a few steps forward, hands in the pockets of his trenchcoat.

"Why are you hear? Perhaps you're desperate. You want rumours. So people know you're alive, dangerous, still lingering in the one place many think are safe... Perhaps to get in contact with someone in particular, hmm?"

I stay silent looking at him with quiet determination on my face, even though he was completely correct.

"Don't shout and jump in surprise for me knowing."

Sherlock spoke sarcastically, smirking.

"It's who I am. Tell me, though.... just who..? Family, perhaps?"

I stay quiet, raising one if my eyebrows to him at his 'joke.'

"So, it is family... you want them to know you're still alive..."

A smirk, he again chuckled coldly and now held his hands behind his back.

"... Yet you want them to still believe you're evil... but why? Oh, you see, these are my favourite things about people like you... so clever... yet look at that... a real reason behind that bulk.."

"You talk too much." I interrupt him.

"The only reason for my return is to keep me fresh in worlds eyes. Soon things will change. Don't try to stop it."

Sherlock chuckled again, pulling his hands from his pockets and pressing the palms together, steepling them and pressing them against his lips slightly.

"... But your family... don't deny you are doing this for them, too?"

"My only goal is domination. Nothing more, nothing less." The lies seem airtight, given the deadpan expression on my face.

Now the man scowled ever so slightly, straightening, turning and pacing to the side, eyes closing in thought.

He really didn't pick up on anything Crest had said from there, busy back in his Mind-Palace.

He did snap slightly.
"Stop talking an thinking for one minute... it's annoying."

"You waste my time." I turn and start moving to walk out.

A gun was pulled within a minute, aimed at Crest, silver eyes snapped open.

"Don't be so quick..."

Without a seconds hesitation I strike a pressure point in his wrist with one finger to make him drop the gun.

Sherlock gave a growl as he pulled away, after the gun clattered to the ground.

His eyes scanned over Crest, to read his movements.
And yet, he was still strangely stony, unreadable.

"... good, good."

I look down at the gun disapprovingly, "muggle weapons."

"I expected better."

Battery dead, gtg pause?

"I prefer not to use too much magic. I'm a bit... old fashioned."

Sherlock smirked calmly.

"I'm not one to turn people in to the police. I find my trill from the case. I'm not getting paid, so I have no interest in giving you away yet... I just want a chance into your mind.."

"Good luck." I turn to walk out again.
