Slytherin Common room

I collapse to the floor with no engery to hold myself up, unable to even look up from the floor as he walks out.

'Oi, Krystal!'
A girl was running up to krystal, looking worried.
'WHat is it, kid?' Krystal said sharply.
The young slytherin looked around then becond to her. 'I know....your not a slytherin, but you have to do something. Its the River girl.'
Krystal sighed, following the girl into the common room, stopping as she saw River lying on the floor.
'What happened?' She shouted, looking around at the students watching. They shrugged.
'No one knows, shes been like this for a while. she wont...she wont even respnd to anything.' The young girl was obviously the leader here. Krystal sighed and shook her head.
'Ok, kids. You find out what the hell happened, and report back to me. Im taking Riv to the hospital wing.'
SHe scooped up the ginger girl in her arms and walked out without another glance.

He was sitting in an armchair reading through River's diary again. He had read it several times but he just needed to read it again. To have some sort of connection to her.

I walk in, running my hand through my hair. I glance up and process someone was sat in there, but it takes a second for me to realise who it was. Death. My eyes drop to the ground, and i frown, not moving from the enterence.

He looked up to see River standing at the door.

I meet his eyes sadly. 'Hey.' I say softly. 'You do know its rude to go through peoples personal stuff dont you?'

He smiled sadly. "I know, you gave it to me to read though." He stood up and walked over to her. He held the diary out to her. "You can have it back though. If you want."

I took it from him, stroking the cover carefully before flicking through the pages. 'You know what, death? I dont need this...' I walk past him, to the fire place and throw it in, watching as the flames destry it.

He sighed and, without thinking, he reached up to cup her face and he kissed her.

I froze for a second, but then smiled, wrapping my arms round his neck, kissing him back.

He broke away from her suddenly and took a step back. He cleared his throat, looking anywhere but at her, "I'm sorry."

'What for?' I openly stare at him, before reaching up and guiding his face so he looks at he. 'you have nothing to apoligise for, Death. Nothing. me, though...I have to.'

He looked right at her. "What have you to apologise for?"

I shrug. 'You have a number of things to pick from. Writing that diary, going completey crazy. Leaving you.'

He shook his head. "You did all those things for a reason Riv. I don't blame you for any of them."

'Not blaming me is one thing. forgiving me is an intirally different matter. and i wouldnt blaame you if you didnt forgive me.'

"I've already forgiven you." He stepped toward her again.

'But you shouldnt!' I back away from him quickly, hating it but knowing i should. 'You shouldnt, because it will just end up happening again. I love you, Death. It hurts me that I do because i will always end up riuning it! always. It breaks my heart knowing that i love you because i know that i shouldnt. i dont want to... i dont want to..' I close my eyes and groan, rubbing my eyes. 'i dont want to hurt you more than i already have.'

He sighed. "When you've made up your mind River, come find me. I'll always love you." He walked back over to the chair that he had abandoned and sat down.

'But nothing can come of it.' I whisper. 'nothing but sadness.'

He shook his head. "You don't know that River. You don't know that until you've tried."

I quietly walk up to the chair, sitting on the arm, lacing my fingers through his without looking at him.

He put his arm around River's waist and pulled her onto his lap. He held her close, just being near her calmed him. He missed her so much!

I leant my head against his chest, sighing. 'Im never going to try and change you, Death. you do know that, right?'

"I certainly hope not." He buried his face in her hair.
