The man frowned, turning to face the woman carefully, his eyes sad.
The exhausted look from before had slipped back over his expression, and he took a small step toward Cayden.

"Annete, I'm sorry... I really am.."

She reluctantly lifted her head, the tears flowing freely now. 'You betrayed me.' her voice had diminished to a tiny whisper, face more distraught than ever.

Crest: -Stays silent but is happy someone cares.-

Descole shook his head, his expression a mixed painting of horror, offence, and pure sorrow.

"Cayden... please, I don't mean you any harm. Because of what happened, the rest of the Strayers are safe..."

"I've got no plans on catching him again, Annete,"

Jean spoke with an exasperated tone, looking almost desperate.

"Once the family is cleared as innocent, we can move on to removing the stain from his name, as well.."

Jean's tone became hurt, almost quivering, cursing himself in his head.

"I wouldn't lie to you on a matter like this, Annete. Please, understand me..."

A moment to let these words sink in, Descole stood his ground.

And then, his expression shifted into that of masked pain. Uncaring and cold. Back to square one.

".... Think what you want. And don't bother to return to my office."

He turned toward the door again, his body tense with anger.

The man gave a forced half-laugh, shaking his head.

"That is your decision. I cannot make that call for you..."

He kept his eyes locked ahead of him, though he did reach up and put a hand on Cayden's, giving a long sigh.

"I really am sorry, Annete."

'I'll forgive you, because Crest did get away after all...' she laced her fingers between his, tears eventually slowing. 'But if the Minister asked you to catch them again, would you do it?'

The man looked at Cayden quietly from under his mask, reaching up and gently wiping the tears from her face.

"... no... no, I wouldn't.."

"I'm not all bad, Cayden. You know I'm not."

A soft smile, he lowered his hand with a sigh and turned his face away.
"... I should go and work on some papers.."

The tall man walked swiftly to the Minister's office, pushing past the guards, who ran to get at him.
He didn't say a word to them, merely showing them a small slip of paper, to which they stopped in their tracks and looked amongst each other.

He had curly black hair, his black trench coat fluttering out behind him, scarf wrapped warmly around his neck as he stopped and knocked firmly on the door.

"Enter..."

The tall man pushed the door open, closing it swiftly behind him.

He instantly looked over the Minister, the room.
Same as he had seen it once before.
Rufus was busy- most likely fretting over the Death Eaters and some paperwork.
Not many had been in that day, it was obvious by the mess and the lack of the smell of tea.


The man cleared his throat. He had a long face, with prominent cheekbones, his silvery blue eyes piercing and unforgiving.
He looked much younger than he was- he had been told once or twice he could pull off being twelve if he didn't have such a deep voice.

"Good Evening, Minister. Hope You aren't too tired..?"

"Life would be a lot better if we weren't so shorthanded in the front." I confess to him.

"Which is one of the reasons, you're here."

A half chuckle, a small smirk, the man nodded slightly. He was, though, already getting bored of this small talk.

However, the prospect of a case excited him.

"... Yes, yes. But you said you would tell me in-person. I do prefer mobile, but... go on..?"

"We need you to find out the location of one Crest Strayer. Can you handle it?"

A short smile, The man's smooth expression and naturally cold eyes lit up brightly.

"Oh, nothing's too hard for this brain. However, the case still sounds a bit dull- anything that might.. particularly... catch my interest? I'm not a dog, I don't sniff out mere criminals."
