Though he had once more been hurt, holing up his emotions and care in the best way he could, Cayden's embrace forced him to remember.

Forced him to relax, to let go.
Yet did he really disgust her..?

Sighing carefully, he wrapped his own arms around her, as well. Though he was tentative, wary and careful about his movements.

".... I'm just as the Strayers think- cruel and sick... with no sense of morality or mercy. What, then, do you mean this is not my true side?"

Amaya: Gosh Descole, people do say stuff they don't mean.-rolls eyes-
'You aren't like the Strayers think, otherwise you wouldn't have hugged me back. This compassionate man is your true side, and we both know it.' her voice was kind and soft, gentle in its own way.

A small sigh, Descole thought over Cayden's words.
He remained silent for a moment before speaking with heavy words.

"I'm glad you think so, Annete.."

Cynderella said a bad word -cries and swears under breath-

'I cannot think otherwise, it's true.' she squeezed him for a moment before stepping back, all remnants of bitterness and annoyance completely fleeting her expression. 'I just wished you believed it.'

The man sighed slightly, turning his face away from her, expression dark.

"It's hard to believe thing when you've been told something else your whole life..."

Descole remained quite cold, quiet despite her laugh.

".... I suppose..."

A small sigh, he shook his head lightly and took his hat off to run his fingers through his feathery brown hair.

"I apologize for being like this. I've had an... off day, so to say."

A soft chuckle, Descole allowed himself to smile.

"There's nothing that you need to apologise for, but I'll accept it.."

A sigh, his expression went thoughtful.

"Do what you think is necessary with the Desouza children. I won't fight against it."

Descole smiled slightly, again slipping his hat back on, remaining calm and calculating.

"Don't put your mind too much on it, Annete. There'll be a way to work it out."

Descole felt hot emotion pricking at the corners of his eyes, tugging at his heart and filling the pits of his stomach.
He let Cayden kiss him, feeling himself relax more.

He kissed her back, gently pulling her close to him, glad to have someone there for him.

'It'll be alright, isn't that what everyone says anyway?' she felt the heat radiate off his body, cherishing it, enjoying it.

Peering up at the clock, a small sigh escaped her lips as she held on to him. 'We need to get back to work, it's been hours...' there was a reluctant edge to her voice.

The man exhaled slowly, calmly.

"At least it has meaning when it's from you..."

He followed her gaze to the clock and scowled suddenly, adding a nod in agreement.
"... Funny how time flies..."

A sigh, he readied himself to go, frowning slightly, mind and heart and body longingly telling him to stay.
"... Good evening, Annete.."

She gave him a tight embrace before being the first to fully break contact, folding her arms slightly, already feeling exposed.

'Good evening Jean.' Cayden shooed him out of her office very hesitantly, sitting down and immersing herself into her various pieces of work.

As Descole was shooed from the office, he couldn't help but grin slyly.

Once out, though, he returned swiftly to his office. He had work to be done, he couldn't keep his mind on this.
