Early Years

-I whisper to her like a secret.- "Do not let anyone know this, but I missed them too."

-The laws of emotional restriction were still in effect by this time.-

"Don't worry, I won't." Despite the danger in him saying that, there's a look of mischief in Reflect's eyes. She's always been one to push the rules slightly, and to enjoy getting around them.

-I smirk ever so slightly, something about her and her nonconformity was just lovely.-

-Sound, Artisan and Crest are walking back from classes taught by Progenitor.-

Sound: "Artisan, your bragging outburst in class will only keep getting you in trouble." -I caution him.-

Artisan: "I don't care! They have to know how great I am!"

Crest: -I scoff but stay silent.-

"Behave, boys," she calls, chuckling. "Honestly... I wonder how Progenitor can bear Artisan, sometimes..."

"I don't think he actually does..."

"He gave me this note for him to give to me." -I hand her the note.-

"Oh, goodness, what has he done now?" Sighing, Reflect reads it.

She frowns, a hint of anger flickering in her eyes.

But it's not directed at Artisan.

"He's too harsh on him," she mutters, glancing around a little nervously. "Artisan's just a little less... law abiding than Crest and Sound, is all." He takes after me, in that way, she adds silently.

"But this is a real problem. We need him to pass his next semester."

"Perhaps we need to get him a change of class."

"Maybe that's a good idea," she admits. "He might do better in another class."

-I take out a pamphlet and look at all the classes.-

"Let's see..."

Artisan: "Hey pops, mum! Check this out!" -I run in with a small device.-

She smiles at him affectionately. "What've you got there?"

Artisan: -I press a button and the small spider like device climbs onto the table and looks at them while Artisan puts on a small monocle.-

"Why pops, you have a new cut under your chin."

Reflect glances at Fade, half amused and half annoyed. "You didn't mention that, dear."

Fade: -I get mildly red.- "You never asked..."

Artisan: "Yeah I made this little spy during Progenitors useless lectures on how feelings are bad!"

She rolls her eyes at her husband, before looking at Artisan. She agrees wholeheartedly that that particular lecture is indeed useless, but she can't say that aloud, and especially not to a Strayer in training.

"Artisan..."

"Yeah?"

She takes a seat at the table, making sure not to touch Artisan's creation in case it's fragile. "You know full well you can't be saying things like that."

-I frown a little.- "Not you too..."

She glances at Fade again then, a flicker of a smile on her face, she gestures for Artisan to come over to her.

OOC: BRB

-I walk over to her.- "Why can't one person just acknowledge how great I am! I dont see Sound or Crest making these!" -I gesture to the spider.- "What makes them so much better than me?"

Gently, Reflect takes hold of one of his hands. "You are great, Artisan, just in your own way, like your brothers. You all have something unique which the others can't compete with. And I'll tell you something if you keep it a secret." She smiles mischievously.

Fade: -I walk out of the room, giving them privacy.-

Artisan: "What?"

She lowers her voice and whispers in his ear. "I think the lecture on how emotions are wrong is terrible too."

OOC And thus began the era of free thought...
