"Have any plans been made against Persephone so far?" Karen pauses, and adds, "Somehow, I don't think she'd be too pleased to see me, but perhaps we could use that to our advantage. If she's distracted, she could be an easier target."

"We are currently trying to locate her, and I agree with your theory."

"Do you... do you need me with you all? I understand if you do, but if not, would you mind contacting me when it's time? I don't think the Strayers would be happy with me either..."

"Admittedly you're the first one to completely abandon us. But we shall contact you when it's time."

-I start walking out.- "Oh, they still forgive you just so you know."

She sighs with relief. "Thank you again. It was nice to speak to a Strayer again, I'll admit."

"Honor was mine, I have always wished to meet Reflect Strayer."

"Why? I'm not that special..." She looks away, embarrassed and also ashamed. I'm not really Reflect anymore. It's Karen now.

"Well you gave birth to one of the best leaders we've had."

Karen and Hazel were the only ones home. Anthony was out at work and the twins were, of course, at Hogwarts.

The youngest Flame was minding her own business in the living room, while Karen was completing some paperwork in the study for her own job.

I go up to the door and knock on it gently, as though I were a neighbor passing by to ask for some sugar.

When Karen didn't answer the door - evidently unable to hear from the study - Hazel went to get it instead. She opened it, peering around the side. "Hello?"

Well, that was easier than I thought. I suppose I could just knock the kid out and go...

"Yes, I was wondering if your parents were around... I have something I need to talk to them about..."

"Oh." Hazel stepped back a bit, opening the door a little wider. "Mum's upstairs, if you want me to go and get her."

Unfortunately, through her family's desire to keep her safe, she had remained unaware of the dangers that came with being a Flame. Her sisters and parents had planned on being a shield to her instead of allowing her to become a target.
