Honora Castellum

He shrugged again, averting his gaze, "yeah maybe..."

"But let's not get wrapped up on me! Come to my workshop! We can get you all set up!"

'Sweet.' She gave him a thumbs up.

He took her into one of the largest rooms in all of Honora Castellum. It was a large dome, that looked to be one of the first buildings to be outfitted with shining metal. It was the byproduct of Artisan getting complete artistic liberty with rebuilding Honora.

Inside were shelves upon shelves filled to the brim with odds and ends. Some larger pieces of metal were hanging from the roof by sheer levitation and there were plenty of work benches all around. At each bench was a table top mirror to provide the inventor with 'inspiration' should he need it.

There was even a muggle refrigerator that had an expanding charm on it to hold more food.

"Welcome to the world of tomorrow!!!" Artisan exclaimed with no shortage of pride.

She was taken aback by the sudden expansion of space, wondering how the hell Artisan managed to keep track of everything in here. 'This is Magneto's dream..' Se muttered to herself, instantly wanting to touch all of the things she saw.

'Do i get to choose what i want, or will i get cursed somehow?' Her fingers reached towards a particularly sturdy looking fabric.

"Oh yeah, you can pick! Make yourself at home!"

He then suddenly yelled "NO DON'T!" As he reached for the fabric, barely containing a chuckle.

She acknowledged his words just as the tip of her finger made contact with the fabric. She craned her head to stare at him, like a frightened child who'd just uncovered a bomb.

'What... happens now?'

Artisan muffled a few laughs but then burst into hilarity, "Oh sorry! Couldn't help it! It was right there! I had to do it!"

She huffed in irritation, throwing the rag at him. 'Fine! I'll just ruin everything in your lab.' She took a step towards some of his stash, almost threateningly.

"Hey hey hey hey hey!" He hurried interjected, "Have a sense of humor will you?!"

'I was kidding.' she noted, lips twitching into a smile. 'Gotcha!' she grabbed another rag, and threw it at him again.

"Okay just for that, I'm going to make it bright, like NEON bright!" he joked as he grabbed the fabric and examined it, "Good choice actually."

'Because that'll be conspicuous.' she jutted out her bottom lip in a pout, fingers gripping a smoother, sheerer sort of fabric. As per her usual attire, it was a simple black. 'Maybe this one? Just maybe.'

He looked closely at it, "Good for mobility, sturdy enough for a baseline defense, not heat conductive, washable without shrinking..."

"I think this will do!"

'You gonna do some magical shit to it?' she peered at the material more closely, wondering why it hadn't suddenly come to life or something.

"Yep! First though, need some dimensions!" He waved his wand and a seemingly innocuous box opened to show rows upon rows of mannequins.

'Can't you just, magic my measurements or something?' she had no way of knowing how magic and... fashion, worked.

"Just stand still, this will be quick..."

He waved his wand again and the rows started whooshing by her at a neck breaking speed, creating a gust of wind which followed as the rows sailed by. 

Finally it abruptly stopped at a mannequin that outlined her body perfectly, "Okay there we go!" He picked it up and took out out, waving his wand to send the rows flying back into the box.

It was over before she'd even blinked. 'O-Okay.' 

'So... is the material all magical before you tamper with it, or after?' She wondered if it would malfunction horribly, somehow.

"Oh little before, a little after, but it's not until I put the whole thing together is it perfect!" Artisan explained.

"Inventing is kind of like baking. Fresh ingredients makes a better cake! Same with magical items! Items that have been boasted to their full potential by me make for a better device!" He waved his hand and spools of the selected material began to weave themselves around the mannequin.

ic She nodded intently, eager to understand, more out of personal curiousity. 'Nobody's ever explained stuff to me like that before..' she murmured, watching as the mannequin became more and more moulded to her specifications. 'Shall i not tamper?'

"It'd be better if..." He then stopped and mulled it over in his head, "Actually no. I can teach you a few things if you wanted! It'll take a bit for that to be finished. Then I got to add some extra features. You know, defenses, other little tricks, lace, tiara..." He added at the end in a hushed tone as a joke.

'But what about my frilly pompoms?' She batted her eyelids at him, before breaking out into a snigger. 'You do... realise I'm terrible at magic, right?'

"I'll tell you a little secret, so am I..."

"If I didn't have skills with enchanting objects and such I'd have no business being here..."

She blinked, the only sign of her surprise. 'R-Really?' Her pale eyes lit up with an idea, reaching for her belt and unsheathing some of her knives. 'Ya think you could enchant my knives to always return to me or something? I spend galleons on these little critters.'

'Besides, we all got our strengths and weaknesses with magic, i just have little in the first place.'

"HA! You may as well ask me to tie my shoes!" Artisan bragged. "I can get right on that!"
