The door opens at once, "Oh certainly, come on in..." The man clearly recognized the kids, "Jason and Todd are upstairs if you want to stay with them."

The kids happily obliged as they ran inside.

'Thank you.' I frown slightly. 'Please look after them...' I say softly before turning away. It did give me slight hope, that crouch had not hurt them... But i oculdnt think of that now.
I walked back up to the house, and kick the door on the way in- if crouch didnt know iw as there, he would now.
'Anybody home?' i shout inside

"Nope, no one's here," came a mocking voice from the office.

"So Mr. Tremel, did you know I also am very well read on a subject? Pain. SO what hurts more.. A?" A loud agonized scream was heard, "or B?" An even louder yell echoed up the stairs.

"looks like B's the winner..."

'Crouch. Why dont you come here and fight the person you really want to kill, not the person who has two children to look after?'

"All a matter of priorities dear sibling. Unlike you, he knows something I want to know..."

'Let me guess. how to use the stone?' I start walking towars the office, carefully. 'The stone that i happen to have half of?'

"Oh so Raven failed to get the stone..." He looked slightly disappointed, "that's unexpected..."

"But not a total loss. How about this? You give me the stone I require and I'll let this strapping old man live..."

'I think you should let him live wither way, crouch. He has a family. he s needed.'

"I haven't failed yet..." Raven jumps in, a wicked smirk on her face, pointing her wand at River.

"How about no? See, he's part of the ministry so he's part of the infection..."

"The infection must be disinfected..."

Crouch looked over at Raven in pleasant surprise, "Raven, how nice of you to come and balance the odds... and by balance I mean stack them in our favor."

I roll my eyes. 'Oh look the lap dogs come back to help. worried that i might beadt your master, raven?'

"Not at all... He gave me a mission that I need to complete."  She shoots a curse at River.

"Have to give her points for devotion, huh Mr. Tremel..."

"Seems you might not be necessary leverage after all..."

I dogde it. 'You know, your just proving my lap dog theory. Dogs are determinded little things, arent they? never give up even when they wont win.'

ooc i do love the 'im going to die but ill go down backchatting' thing riv has. lol

"What makes you think we won't win?"  Raven throws another one.

"Because I'm here too!" Jack bursts in, glaring daggers at Crouch, getting his own out of his leather jacket.

Crouch even got surprised as Jack stormed inside, "And Jack too..."

"Congratulations Mr. tremel, you've become necessary again..." He picked up the weak man and pointed his wand under his chin, "Let's not get crazy here... give me the stone, or someone else will have to cut the crust of the kiddies bread..."

'Crouch. I swear. Please...you didnt hurt the kids, you do have a heart. Dot leave them heartbroken.' I say, between building a shield up agaisnt Raven.

Jack sighs after River says that Crouch has a heart.  She's a hopeless dreamer when it comes to him...  He looks around for something he can throw at Crouch from behind, without him seeing it.

"River..."

"The kids used their pleases and thank yous. I couldn't harm them. Do you know how rare it is for kids to have good manners these days?"

"besides, being without a father figure isn't so bad. I mean, look how I turned out!" He smiled crazily as he gestured to himself.

'But their father loves him, unlike ours! Please, crouch.'

OOC Ray says we can continue, she's getting lunch!

"The stone and I won't..." he repeats as he held out his hand.

Instead of giving him the stone, i raise my wand and point it at him. 'Let him go, crouch. Now.'

Crouch sighed despite no disappointment whatsoever, "I tried to be polite..." He pointed his wand at her.

'last time i checked, polite wasnt threaeing to kill someone.' I throw a small curse at him. 'Being polite would be giving up.'
