The Black Lake

"That or perhaps you have slipped..."

Raven glares at him.  "Well I certainly did better than you.  The pet beat you all by herself!"

"y..you have more experience fighting her than me!" He defended.

"Are you kidding?  She was SO easy to defeat that ANYONE could do it!"

"Well not anymore. You yourself admitted she got better!"

"Because she did."

"Well she outclassed both of us..."

"No, she outclassed YOU.  I was up against her husband.  She didn't even come in until the last minute..."

Sapphire lounged by the edge of the glossy lake. Her hand trailing through the cool waters as she gazed upwards. It had been some time since she was able to enjoy Hogwarts. She forgot how peaceful it could be when people weren't trying to murder you at every turn. It was nice and the smile that ghosted her lips almost felt foreign it had been gone so long.

"Bout time Hogwarts was a good place to nap again..." Topher stepped out toward the lake, happy to see his old friend.

She smiled brightly upon hearing him "it's weird not seeing Death Eaters running amuck all over the place... this place is truly amazing with out a horde of psychos trying to kill or recruit everyone."

"No kidding!" He sits down next to here, "Just me, my lucky deck, and long evenings of staring at the back of my eyelids. It's heaven!"

Her smile flickered for a moment as she pondered how long the peace would last "that's like the ultimate Topher paradise. I only imagine how much you've been enjoying yourself."

"Oh man it's been a blast!"

"But how are things for Team Saph?"

Her shoulders gave a small shrug of indifference "nothing too spectacular I suppose.. lately anyway. Just been keeping off the radar,  especially from every ones favorite psychopath."

"I heard he recently threatened the Ministry like outright..."

She shook her head a little "why doesn't that surprise me in the least bit?.. I'll never understand how some one gets warped to that point."

"Hell if I know, all I know is he thinks he's the next coming of Baldimort..."

She giggled a little "you've got to be joking... no wonder he was in a mood the last time I saw him. He's entirely lost his marbles."

"You mean he had them to begin with?" He asked with mocking surprise.

She laughed lightly "had to of at some point.. I mean I was attracted to him before he started going off the deep end. There must have been some part that still had logic."

"That really kinda dashed some dating prospects hasn't it?"

Ic she smirked a little "yeah. I.guess it did in a way.. but I never let it stop me too much"

"Yeah good on you! You know, maybe you should come play poker some time with me and a few friends!"

"So I can school you at your own game? Count me in." She beamed happily. It had been a while since she had been around enjoyable company.
