'I try not to be an asshole too, i could be worse' he offered, trying to make himself seem.. ok.

"Why be an asshole at all?"

'It's in my nature to cause mischief, it sustains us.'

"No choice." I finish for him, knowing the feeling.

'pretty much. I can't say i regret it either, its just what i am.'

"Things can change you know."

'No, if i regretted it and tried to change, i'd die. We as kitsunes cannot regret anything we do, so we're either cautious or indifferent.'

I nod my head, it was a fair point he made.

he noted the gesture, surprised. 'You aren't holding me in contempt?'

"Let's not go that far. You're still sided with the Death Eaters."

'Easier not to risk regretting your actions when your allies don't care either.' plus, i can tolerate Crouch, he isn't a tight-assed bastard like half of the people here are..

I just stay silent, thinking on his words.

'It seems we've reached some sort of understanding.' he noted absently, a shadow of a smile on his face.

I just nod solemnly. Admittedly I didn't like people understanding me. It made life easier when they didn't.

'I'll try not to ask much of you Crest.' he spoke quietly, barely raising his voice. 'You don't seem too bad to me.'

"I'll keep you noted about the kitsune." That small display of compliance was the closest to a friendly remark as I could hazard with him.

it's not like you have a choice. 'Thank you.' he picked up a goblet of pumpkin juice, sipping it carefully. The cool liquid slid down his throat with ease, barely tasting it as it soothed his nerves.

'I wouldn't like to leave either, it may put my contractees in some sort of jeopardy.' ((and not the american show))

"What sort of jeopardy?"

'Other Kitsune like.. to play games with other Kitsunes "possessions."' he chose his words carefully, as much as he could whilst still being honest. 'Seeing as you are under my possession, you would be acknowledged as one.'

"What becomes of me is no consequence. The others however matter."

'And you aren't the only one under my service here, it would be even more enticing if a nogitsune were to hear of it.' he shrugged, rolling away his paranoia.
