Lukas seated himself on the bottom step, staring upwards at the spriling staircase above him. It was majestic yet slightly horrifying for him at the same time.

This was the place where he'd crushed Evan...
And Sophie had tumbled to her death.

He rose carefully, pacing around the spot where the girl had landed, feeling an unusual pang in his chest. It was odd; he'd never really cared much, until she'd fallen. She was the one who'd evaded him, resisted his charms, mystified her.

But no, the strongest humans always met their demise it seemed.

'I'm sorry.' he finally murmured to himself, wishing he could say it to her. He couldn't displace his guilt over it, but he didn't- no, couldn't regret it either.

As usual, Lukas would always be alone.

Oh man Chimmy, you really screwed the poach this time...

"HEY SAPH!! SAPH!! Ya here?"

her breath was coming in sharp gasps. "I can't believe I just did that... or what he said.." her thoughts raced as a tear slid down her cheek like a crystal. A sob wanted to escape her lips, but it was like she was half numb. She had run down a few flights before stopping her feet barely seemed to carry her as her mind twisted around what had just happened. And then she heard Topher's voice and she stopped. Simply standing there starring at thg\e shiny marble floor .

Finally catching up to her, I stop and put my hand on her shoulder, bringing her in for a friendly hug, "Hey... I'm REALLY sorry for what happened.."

She clung to him tightly not saying anything for a few moments as tears slid from her eyes "I honestly knew it was too good to be true.. that something would happen.. and then Jim had to come strolling back into my life to wreck it all again.."

She sniffled a little and then looked up at him, her eyes meeting his "I love him though...." She sighed "He can't be tied to one girl no matter how badly I want it.. and he'll never listen to common sense... it's just who he is.." small sobs came between her words. She loved Chimmy, but wanted him to have better than a sick girl who could relapse and probably die at any moment.

She looked at him with tears still glistening in her eyes "I really don't feel that way... more like I just let go of the only good thing in my life."

Chimmy was the one good thing in her life? Damn she must've hit hard times...

"Here, I think Mr. FireWhiskey can help cheer ya up." I smirk at her.

She smiled a little, but with a sad and sort of lost look in her eyes "ahh Firewhiskey.. the cure to everything."
