"Yeah I guess we need it after this week, huh?" I offer to her with a sad smile.

She took a small sip thoughtfully "we're a mess aren't we?" she looked at him completely serious.

"Life is never easy ain't it? Hell one moment you're a rich kid with life set out for you, then you're a street crook, then you're a hero, and then you're trash again..."

"Don't say that! You could never be trash.. You're kind and one of the most amazing people I've ever met.. and right now you're my favourite person.. " she smiled a little

I smirk a bit, "Ya sure are good at butterin' people up.."

She grinned "it's a gift honestly.. I can make my friends realize how amazing they are."

"Trust me, I could've used that gift earlier..." I smirk at her and take a drink.

"ah well my timing has never been that great.. but I'm here now! all to make your day brighter" she smiled becoming genuinely more happy by the minute.

"Well I appreciate the effort!" I smile at her, finding comfort in her. I still want Amaya back, but she was aiding my recovery.

She smiled as she leaned forward touching his head where he had been hit "That hot chocolate should do a little more than just taste delicious... your head should be feeling better in no time." she smiled happily at him.

"What, does it have a healing doodad in it?"

She smiled "yeah an all natural herbal remedy I concocted .. it's pretty amazing to be honest and easily covered by chocolate."

"Really? Ya oughta talk to Eugene, he'd put ya to work." I chuckle as I drink more and begin to feel some relief on my head.

"Thanks!"

She grinned "your welcome.. I love that nature has some awesome cures.. doesn't require any magic at all sometimes...I don't think I've met Eugene.." she racked her brain trying to remember.

"He's a good guy... a LITTLE screwloose but he's harmless enough."

"see that little sounded kinda big to me, but hey .. I love 'em crazy.. It makes things more fun..." she grinned happily " oh and you know you and I are on for some serious fun.. I promise not to get you in trouble...there's ways to have adventures with out the law breathing down your neck."

"Cool, I'm a new guy now. Let me tell you, it's nice going out and not worryin' about being carted off to Azkaban."

She smiled "That's really good.. it's right to have fresh starts to be able to reinvent who you are.. like a breath of clean air filling your lungs for the first time.. "

I look at her a little surprised by how she knew that, "You went clean too?"

She shrugged "I did once.. Lived in a nice place went to school and studied like a good student.. I had no memory and figured it was the best thing to do. The whole time I felt like I had turned around a life I couldn't even remember.. and well after breaking things off with Crouch I guess I just ran.. I wanted to forget it all.. so I took to the streets. It felt natural like I had done it before.. stealing to survive.. and it's odd but to me that was an even better start. Everything was exciting and new and dangerous.. it was fun."

I smirk, knowing this story sounded all too familiar, "Funny story, I wasn't actually supposed to stay here."

"really?" she looked at him curiously "How come?"

"Well as you're probably aware, I have 'The Evil Eyes', they can cast bad luck on anything they look at."

"Way back when I needed a special pair of glasses to keep them from destroying everything. Hogsmeade was just a stop for me to skate through life while leaving as little an impact on anything as possible. But then I decided to stay at Hogwarts a little..."

"I was supposed to leave by the end of that week, go back on the road. But then I made friends and more here."

"I'm glad you did stay though.. couldn't ask for a better friend." she smiled brightly "wanna know how I ended up back here?"
