Well isn't this my lucky day. The boy didn't move, staring at Crouch with unblinking green eyes, reflecting the colour of grass on a freezing day. He wasn't afraid of Crouch, in fact, he'd matured a lot in his absence.

I grin my crazy grin, which had not changed in years back at him. Brown orbs of insanity looked back into his eyes.

"Mr. Rook... I had not expected you."

'It's okay, i don't expect myself either.' he almost joked, a shadow of a smile turning up the corners of his lips. 'And it's just Rook, you don't need formalities with me.' The boy had no clue where he stood.

'You wanted to die that day.' he spoke with a level tone, before agreeing. 'And sure, no dragging me into all the politics at school though. You know I sit on the fence.'

'Dare I ask?' he was incredibly wary, to the extent that he shifted his posture, clasping his hand behind his back to hide his nerves. 'And this better not be followed by a crucio.'

'I wouldn't exactly say we were old friends... What were you wondering about?' his whole posture was guarded but not paranoid, simply careful as he had learnt to be.

'Of course you are.' Rook decided to humour the boy. 'I can imagine you being the poster boy for all things right and wonderful in this world..' He was beginning to become too curious to be polite.

But then I calm myself and let him go smiling again.
