It was strange. I knew of many young aurors but never once Donia. Yet she held a commanding presence and a cool head under fire. She was calm and tactical as though she's had years of experience in this type of affair.

ooc Donia: 'oh Im sorry, didn't realize you needed to be an auror to be rational.'

ic Donia maneuvered herself to the right side of the area, placing her hand on the first door and flinging it open.

There was nothing inside, this room was seemingly empty. 'i got nothing so far.' she called out to Artemis.

I check the next door and find nothing.

They worked their way through the endless doors until only one was left. So far they'd all been empty, a distraction. 'Well, here we go..'

This was it. Behind this door rest the greatest evil to ever touch the earth.

After a gulp to gather my nerves I take the doorknob.

At last I turn the doorknob and step inside, "Lord Voldemort, your reign is over." Strange, facing the man was a lot easier than preparing myself to.

Donia had also crept in, hood pulled over her head, seemingly ready for anything behind the shadows her clothes cast over her face. There was no way to tell that she wasn't actually on Artemis's side.

But for now, she had to be.

'Unlikely, Artemis Strayer.' if the man was possible of laughter, a sinister chuckle would've escaped his reptilian lips.

Donia remained silent, scanning the room. The place was crawling with Death Eaters, waiting on his command...

The Dark Lord left the words hanging in the air, spaking in a curt and crisp tone to his followers. 'Take the girl, I can handle this wretch myself.' From possessing a cold majesty, Voldemort shifted into a fighting stance in seconds.

'Please.' Voldemort scoffed like Artemis had told a bad joke. The man simply flicked his wand to bat away the spell. He rose with the same royal air he had earlier. 'You are just as susceptible to the darkness as I am, but you reject it, it makes you weak.. incarcerous!'

Of course, Voldemort was using tame spells, toying with his prey.

OOC since you're playing a cannon character, I'll respond in kind.

Lucius Malfoy: Approaching the girl, I pull my wand from my cane, "How dare you to intrude on the noble house of Malfoy! Crucio!"

This man is nothing like the Dark Lord, quick to act on impulse. Donia dived out of the way, trying to maneuvre in the limited space she had. 'Expelliarmus!'

Artemis: Dodging at the last moment, it was close to impossible to even see that attack coming. It was almost instantaneous. "Wrong Voldemort, the darkness is what makes you weak! Expelliarmus!"

Lucius: "avada..." my wand gets knocked out my hand and I struggle to pick it up

Donia immediately launched her foot into Lucius' stomach, at the soft spot just at the bottom of his rib cage. 'I don't want to hurt you Malfoy.'

Voldemort's laugh echoed in the entire room, but it wasn't warm, it was entirely chilling. It was so cold people could've sworn the temperature of the room had dropped a few degrees. He swept himself out of the way of the spell, barely. 'The Darkness makes everyone strong, it offers protection.. legillimens!'

Lucius: I fall backward but get up and still scramble to get my wand, not buying her words.

Artemis: Once more the speed of Voldemort's spells catch me unaware, we were not equals by any means, it was apparent now.

Images flash through my mind. Images of my father's corpse among a pile of others, my days during my brief apprenticeship to Crouch Sr, when I thought Liria was dead.

Using every bit of willpower I possessed, I was finally able to push him out of my mind.

'no, trust me Malfoy, i don't.' Donia whispered harshly, pulling up her sleeve to reveal a brief glimpse of her mark before shoving it back down.

Voldemort seemed mildly surprised, if it could ever be conveyed on his ghastly pale face. 'You would be so much more powerful if you embraced the darkness Artemis, you'd be able to protect your loved ones... protect Liria, and never be afraid of becoming a monster..'

Lucius: I stare at the mark and just nod to her silently, but surprised. I stop my attempts to get my wand, just holding my hands to show my surrender.

Artemis: "You're right in one aspect. I would never be afraid of becoming a monster, because I'd BE one."

He didn't discover anything on my children, good. It was a small victory but that's all I could achieve at this rate. Unless...

"Strayer spell #100."

A large swallow erupts from the tip of my wand, made of pure magical energy. It was like nonfatal fiendfyre, my most powerful spell. If this didn't work, I would surely be killed.

But to help ensure it's success, I start to use a shadow puppetry spell to try to bind my shadow onto Voldemort to hold him steady.
