The Forbidden Forest

"So... just... don't think about it?" He sounds confused. "Don't force it?"

"Right..."

Loss of control. That's what Red is good at. Right?

Except, he's still in control, really. He doesn't see it that way, but it's true. He's methodical about what he does, even if he feels like he's out of his mind with enjoyment over his 'tasks' - it's a loose term, but that's what he uses to refer to them in his mind.

"If I try again... will you help?" It hurts for him to ask, but he needs this escape. It will provide him with a bit of peace away from the castle and, if he needs to, he can simply vanish into the forest.

He chuckles. "You'll be the only exception. You don't seem so bad..."

He waves a hand. "Been there, done that, didn't want the t-shirt."

"Ok." He closes his eyes and takes a calming breath. He frowns slightly when he releases the breath and starts the transformation again. Pain flickers across his features.

His desires to hide his weakness and howl his pain to the heavens battle, but he eventually settles on a strangled whimper.

Fur coats his skin again, gradually growing thicker, creeping up his neck to his face. It's the first time he's gotten this far.

He hisses in pain but feels pleased at her words. He starts to note just how much progress he's made when a particularly strong bolt of what feels like lightening shives down his spine.

Stop thinking about it, he growls to himself.

Bit by bit, Red gives himself over to the transformation. It's an uncomfortable feeling, being out of control this way, but also... comfortable, in a way.

It looks and feels easier than before once he does this. The transformation becomes smoother and appears how it should. While it's still not exactly quick, it's not as clunky as the failed attempts before had been.

Eventually, a scrawny, bristly-furred wildcat crouches on the ground, his ears flattened against his had.

OOC: I know I've rushed it, but I've only got about 5 minutes

'Ah sweet, you're a cat too.' she commented, smiling broadly. 'Congratulations.'

IC: Cautiously, Red stretches out a paw and places it on the ground, revelling in the feel of the soil under his foot. He purrs, pleased.

The purr is replaced by a low growl, and Red gestures at the forest with his tail, hoping his meaning is clear.

Not the point! If I'm not seen, then it doesn't matter.

His inability to form words makes his lips pull back in a silent snarl and dig his claws into the ground.
