His eyes widened a bit and then he laughed. "Crouch, Crouch, Crouch." He shook his head, still laughing.

I smile. 'Yeah, he doesnt seem to realise if you did leave me, i owuld deal with it. its not his job. anyway, i know you wont leave me.'

He tilted his head from side to side. He could handle Crouch, but he didn't dare say anything to River. "Thank you. Oh! I've got something for you," he said, remembering the ring. "Close your eyes."

He took the box out of his pocket and withdrew the ring. He grabbed River's left hand and slid the ring onto the third finger. "Open your eyes."

I open them, looking down at my hand, my jaw dropping. I touch it, as if checking it was real, before throwing my arms around his neck and hugging him tightly.

IC He laughed and pulled her into another hug. He couldn't believe that his life had turned from absolute hell to complete bliss in a matter of days. He almost didn't think about his troubles, almost. They still lingered like a thorn in his side.
