Persephone snarled, holding her slightly burned arm.

"Warning? Bah! I could crush your pitiful boys, you're no different.."

"It's four of us against you. I think we have the upper hand here," Karen replies coolly.

"And I easily wounded three against just me..."

A small smirk, the woman crossed her arms lazily over her chest.

"... why not one woman to the other...? Girl... to girl...?"

She smiles wryly. "I'm not stupid enough to do that. I'll be the first to admit that I'm a little rusty on my fighting skills, and it's more than likely that I'll be killed if I face you alone."

A chuckle, Persephone shook her head, swishing her wand at her side.

"... come on... it doesn't seem fair to put your wounded boys in this battle with you. They'd be as useless as a broken shield.."

"I have faith in my sons' abilities."

A dark laugh, she looked to the Strayer boys with a lazy expression.

She shook her head slightly, thick black curls and waves bouncing slightly.

"And what about when... they.. die..?"

Karen rolls her eyes. "They won't. You're at a disadvantage here, Persephone. Four Strayers against one of you."

"You mean one old Strayer who has 'rusty' fighting skills, and three hurt boys.."

Persephone took a small step backwards, her eyes dark, her face expressionless.

"I don't plan on dying today, or being imprisoned, either.."

Karen moves forward, matching Persephone's pace. "I'm afraid your plans are going to go awry..."

The woman scowled, taking a few more steps back.
To be honest, she was feeling a bit intimidated by this woman. But she wouldn't let it show.

"... Oh, I doubt that very much.."

She continues walking forwards, making sure to keep the exact same distance between them. "Then you don't know me very well."

Persephone gave a slight growl, stopping in her tracks, holding her ground now.

"Can't say we've met, sugar.."

"Really? I remember you and your fascination with Fade." While Karen knows she has no right to feel jealous or even possessive over Fade anymore, she can't help it.

A sudden flash of a dark expression crossed over Persephone's face, and she gave a long growl.

"... what my feelings for Fade once were are no longer. You have no right to stick your nose in that business."

"I'm fairly certain I do," she retorts, beginning to grow angry.

"The past is none of your business..!"

Persephone gave a loud snarl, her eyes angry, the black tattoo under her left eye beginning to liquefy slightly, a bit of it rolling like paint down her cheek.

"What does it matter to you how I felt..? It spared your son's life once..."

"And if there's any sliver of goodness left in you, you'll leave them alone. They're still young, Persephone!"

Karen draws her wand and, in a gesture that would've been better suited to her werewolf daughter, she draws back her lips in a snarl. "I was once married to Fade, I'm fairly certain it's my business!"

A few steps back again, the woman's grip on her wand tightened nervously.

"Leave them alone! Hah! How can you say that, corrupting their thoughts the same way the ministry has corrupted everyone else! It's sickening!"

The woman spat on the ground, her shoulders tense, her eyes narrowed harshly.

"What never happened between us was before the time of your marriage, it doesn't matter any loner."

"The Ministry has nothing to do with this! The Ministry is nothing like what is going on here!"

Artemis: -I rise to my feet, watching them.-

Artisan: -I stand up and ready myself.-

Crest: -Once more the Ministry's corruption plays into my life. If both the light and the dark agree it was corrupted, should we be working with them?-

A laugh, Persephone shook her head.

"Is it..? Imprisoning people and torturing them? Ask your own son what he did to me, just to get me to stop talking. And I was saying nothing bad to him, merely telling him the truth of the matter..."

A slight inhale, she kept her eyes locked on the Strayer family.
"... it's impeccable how the Ministry leaks it's way even into the most noble of families- isn't that right, Crest..?"

"Stop speaking your poison," she spits, eyes blazing with anger. It's been years since Karen's been this furious, and she almost looks like Phoenix in this moment.

"Don't you DARE speak ill of us! You're a criminal, a monster. Our job is to defeat you!"

Persephone chortled slightly, moving her cold eyes to Crest.

"And yet, who's the one who went in and attacked a fellow Auror without question- who attempted to kill him...? You're just as bad as me, boy.. I like it.."
