The woman raised a hand, a black spike lifting from the shadows, raising into the air and pointing at Artemis.

"Always... such a funny word. It only means as long until you die.."

-I look at her unafraid.- "I pity you..."

A snarl, Persephone's eyes narrowed.

"Pity was what got your father killed, too. What turned me the way I am. Pity is a cruel thing..."

A small laugh, Persephone gestured her hand to Artemis, sending the spike toward him.

-I close my eyes, embracing my fate.-

A warning shot flies past Persephone's arm, close enough to leave a burn. Karen runs towards them then slows to a walk, looking eerily calm. "It's been a while, Persephone."

"Mother... What are you doing here?" -I ask her surprised.-

She glances at Artemis before settling her gaze on Persephone again; Karen is taking no chances here.

"One of the other Strayers told me the situation and invited me to come back. I said I would help."

"Well I appreciate this a lot..." -I smile at her.-

She smiles. "It's the least I can do to make up for my mistakes."

Artisan: "Mum..."

Crest: "talk later, fight now." -I command Artisan.-

"Crest," she chides, but in an amused way. "Honestly. Hello to you too, Artisan, dear."

Artisan: -I'm still amazed by this.- "Hey..."

Artemis: -I get back up to my feet.- "Thanks for coming..."

"It really isn't a problem at all, Artemis. It's about time I put my wrongs right." Karen seems entirely convinced by her words. She didn't want to be a Strayer in the past, but she's more than willing to accept them again now. The only difference now is she has Anthony and Hazel, both of which need her.

"Just so you know, I understand you don't want this to become a regular occurrence, so I promise it won't be."

"I'll come back as often as you need me," she promises. "Anthony is more than capable of looking after Hazel for the time it takes for a mission. I'd rather not return as a full member, though..."
