Cynder gave a small chuckle, eyes twinkling brightly.

"Now, really. My heart isn't that good... and anyway, I doubt everyone will like me here... but... I'd like to fit in here, yeah.."

A small laugh, Cynder really couldn't help but be this excited.

"After the ceremony I can show you the best spot for sightseeing!"

Cynder bounced up and down on her toes, grinning like a child.

"Really!? Oh, how great! It's like a vacation, really! Next thing I know, there'll be a little gift shop we need to go to..."

-I laugh heartedly.- "I know of no such thing. But I have a gift I'd like to give you!"

"Aw, shame. I was hoping there might be a tee-shirt that says 'I went to the Vatican and all I got was this stupid t-shirt'..."

A chuckle, she paused and a curious, yet serious expression spread on her face.

"... r-really...?"

"Hahahahaha!! Sorry I'm afraid no shirts like that." -I say jokingly.-

"and yes, a gift I think you'll like! Just curious, what's your favorite color?"

A subtle, crooked grin.

"Haha, all right."

A pause, she thought carefully.

"Well, I do love emerald green..."

"Emerald green, got it! I hope you love this!!" -I smile at her hopefully.-

She closed her eyes and bit her lip, grinning.

Father Castulus: -I knock on the door, gently but firmly.-

Matthew: "Come in!"

Father Castulus: "Greetings son, Cynder, do you wish to begin? Everyone is ready."

Cynder's eyes slid open and she looked to the side and smiled at Father Castulus.


At his question, she gave a small nod.

"Yes... I would like that very much.."

-I smile kindly at the girl, putting my hand on her shoulder lightly.- "Welcome to our faith, Cynder!"

Cynder grinned happily at Castulus, nodding slightly and gratefully.

"Thank you... for accepting me into your faith.."

"There is no one, who isn't welcome into the sight of God."

Cynder's smile became small, weak, but sincere.

"... Thank you. I think I'm ready..."

"Come on in!" -I smile at the pair.-

Cynder gave a small smile, nodding to Father Castulus and following slightly.

Excitement. And slight nervousness. Cynder couldn't help but tremble with joy.

Father Castulus: "Matthew, would you like to do it?"

Matthew: "Oh.. sure thing Father!" -I smile at him as we make our way to the congregation.-

Cynder blinked, shocked at all the people.

She bit her lower lip, smiling, whispering to Matthew.
"There's so many people..."

"It'll be fine..." -I smile at her gently as I lead her up to where the water is-

The girl swallowed and nodded slightly.

"All right... just... I just get in yeah... okay.."

She glanced at the people gathered there, giving them a small smile and waving slightly.

-The congregation returns Cynders greetings enthusiastically, like welcoming a family member to a table to eat.-

Matthew: -I put on the traditional baptist robes and walk over to the water, clearing my throat along the way.- "Please be seated."

-The organ abruptly stops and the congregation all take a seat-

Cynder felt tense, wary, confused.
She gave a small smile, crooked with the whole wariness of her emotions.

She gave Matthew a small look before giving a nervous grin, glad that it was him and not some stranger baptising her.

"And today, we welcome into our congregation, Cynder Dustypaws, who is standing before us in the sight of god to be baptized in the name of our lord."

A nervous grin, Cynder looked at the congregation again and gave a small, almost silly wave.

She would have said hello if this wasn't such a serious moment.
