"I can tell you respect him, even given his outburst..."

A dark look flashed over Descole's face, and he gave a scowl, turning fully to face the Minister now.

"What makes you think that, Minister...?"

"Perhaps I'm wrong, but there was something on your face."

Descole gave a smooth laugh, shaking his head.

"You best get glasses, then, Minister. There was nothing but my mask and cold hatred on my face."

"Then go get him. I'll have someone investigate the Strayers to see if Crest's story checks out."

Jean's expression went flat, and a cruel, smug tone entered his voice.

"There is no reason to get him until I have correct answers and information, Minister. Good day."

"Jean Descole, he held the Minister of Magic hostage! That is a very serious crime!"

A small smirk, Descole gave a cruel chuckle.

"Well, welcome to the club..."

"What are you talking about?"

The man turned to the door again, opening it and taking a small step out.

A pause, he spoke with a smug tone.

"Just because Minister of Magic doesn't mean everyone will care if you're attacked like you were. We aurors go through things like this every day. It's our job. It's about time you've seen that just because of your status, it doesn't mean you don't have to get a taste of what we get."

"In case you have somehow forgotten, Jean, I too used to be an auror before all of this!" -I yell to him indignantly.-

The man stopped in his tracks and thought, giving a cruel smirk.

"Then maybe someday I'll get the blessed position you are in now. Because really, we can't afford to have a just person like Auror Cayden in your seat.."

-I glare at him pointedly.- "Just take down Crest, you're dismissed."

A smirk, Descole tipped his hat.

"Very well, sir. Good day."

And with that, he was gone.

Descole was looking gradually more upset. He had seen the paper. The exact opposite of what the Minister had promised him.

Figures that it wouldn't be silence.

And he did owe someone an apology right now..

Holding the paperwork he had done for Cayden in one hand, he reached up and knocked gently on the door.

No response..?

That was uncharacteristic of Cayden...

Descole scowled and knocked again before pushing the door open quietly.
"... I brought the paperwork you asked me to do..."

The man blinked from under his mask, remaining calm, though he couldn't deny the sinking feeling in his stomach.

"... Annete, I did what was best for the Ministry."

The man would have grimaced, if it hadn't been for the sudden cold feeling that swept over him, turning his hurt heart to stone.

He moved quickly, tossing the paperwork on the table with a lazy movement, turning toward the door as soon as he had.

"I did what I was asked, and that's that... simply my job.."

The man's expression contorted into that of anger and offence, turning to look at her, his heart aching at the sigh of her tears.

"You know I would never. I worked hard to get her out, I wouldn't force her back in to Azkaban. Besides, Crest escaped...."
