Strayer Shrine

-I look down at the rings. Symbols of true affection, now symbols of pure bondage. Married to his close friend he didn't love, while the world died... could anything be more imprisoning than these rings right now?-

Guard: Put them on...

-I hesitantly pick up one of the rings... and pure terror and disgust filled me-

Cynder felt her trembling hand reach for the other ring, picking it up in her delicate fingers.

All her dreams and nightmares.. this had to be the worst thing.
She had promised Artemis she would do nothing to get between Lir and him. But this.... it was against everything.

With putting on this ring, she would be breaking her promise..
Her eyes rose to Artemis again, gazing through the veil, horror-struck.

Liesel... -I ask pleadingly- Please... have some compassion...

(( Insert Phantom shouting: "The world showed no compassion to me!" /shot down ))

Liesel gave a chuckle, eyeing Artemis with a lazy look of power in her eyes.
"Dear Ersatz, this is the most compassionate thing I can do for you! Think! This is the same reason that you went to Archimedes. To purify the world! And instead of death, you get a bride!"


Cynder really did hate that woman.

But Archimedes wasn't going to kill the entire world! The prophecy would've brought peace to the light and darkness. You just intend to murder everyone with even a little shade in them! Including the woman I want to be my bride!

Liesel's eyebrows raised, the wicked smile curling over her soft lips.

"Archimedes was going to kill you. And that's just as bad."
Looking him over, the woman stood, the vial once more clutched in her hands.
"Give her up, Ersatz. She is of no help to this cause, other then to die."

-I say defiantly- Not going to happen... I'll never give her up!

Liesel's eyes narrowed, and she took a few steps nearer to Artemis.
"Then it is the hard way...? Fine..."
A mad chuckle broke from her lips as she unstoppered the vial.

-I knock the vial out of her hand and smile in triumph- You can't control me Liesel...

Shock and anger filled Liesel's expression as the glass smashed to the floor, spilling it's potion.

Rage set a deep scowl on Liesel's face, and she turned to face the man who was to wed the two.
"Well," She snarled, "Don't just stand there! Say it! Man and Wife!"

But mi'lady... they have to put the rings on before I can do that...

Fuming rage boiled over in a loud snarl as Liesel grabbed Cynder's arm.
Yelping with shock, Cynder wilted under her anger, and Liesel ripped the ring from her hand, sliding it on her finger angrily.
Turning to Artemis, freeing Cynder, Liesel growled.
"Put the ring on, Ersatz. I don't want to have my men do it for you."

You're going to have to... my father Arthur Strayer taught me to never surrender, no matter what odds were against me....

"Then so be it.. Guards, restrain him."

Cynder gave a choked cry of anger as the guards moved forward, grabbing Artemis' arms.
Liesel stepped forward and took the ring out of his hand by pure force.

"I always have more potion, Ersatz. You have not won yet."
With a dark smile, Liesel moved to put the ring on his hand.
These two would be wed, no matter what they said.

Arteis: -I go to yank the ring off, but it seems to tighten itself on my finger when I try-

Guard: Now then... I now declare these two, Man and wife... if anyone has any objections as to why these two should be joined in matrimony let them speak now or forever hold their peace

Artemis: -I'm a husband... Cynder's... no... this isn't right... I try futilely to pull off my ring-

Liesel backed away, the guards leaving Artemis free now.

Cynder watched Artemis curiously as he went to pull the ring off.
To her own shock, when she tried to pull the ring from her own hand, it tightened painfully over her pale finger.

Her stomach turned over as the Guard spoke those words.
Liesel was grinning.
That sick woman.

Nothing could be done...
It was over. It was too late.

And now we wait for Crouch and the other DE to swoop in and save the day....

Liesel heard the excited outburst.
She herself could feel the power of the blood circle. It was almost ready.
Almost!
And yet, she could see it in her head now! The bloody circle on the ceiling, gleaming, a bluish purple, seemingly spinning in it's place.
A chuckle began to sound from Liesel's throat.
Yes. The time was near.

Oh no, I just figure we could RP as meaningless characters until everyone was here

Artemis: -Please... someone object... anyone... someone.... help... I look at Cynder's face... at any time, that veil would come up and I would be asked to kiss the bride...-

Child: -Looks to a child next to him- I can't wait until thats me and my partner. The Ersatz and his wife are so lucky!
