I chuckle. "Obviously." I limp over to him, grimacing at the brief bursts of pain in my leg. I still give him a smirk, though, when I reach him. "Aren't you going to wish me 'happy birthday'?"

He watched her saunter over, a salacious look in his eye as always. Lukas bent forward, kissing her gently on the lips. It was an entirely predictable move, but he didn't care. 'Happy birthday Miss Flame.' he whispered softly, not feeling the need to raise his voice.

I narrow my eyes at Lukas; I might not get on well with him, but he is in a relationship with my sister. "I haven't seen him since the battle, and anyway, Pomfrey said it'll stay like this."

He shrugged, watching her carefully. 'Then he could probably do something for the pain.' Lukas gave her a knowing look, he'd seen her wince when she'd hobbled over. 'I could, actually.'

'That's all I need.' he was trying to be reassuring, now kneeling by her damaged leg. 'You may want to lean on the walking stick a little bit more.' Lukas placed one palm on the leg, looking up at her for confirmation.

Warmth began to seep from his palm, weaving its way into the sinews of her muscles, attempting to relax them. His eyes had fluttered close, and he seemed to be mouthing words silently.

The warmth is soothing, providing a wonderfully painless sensation that I haven't felt since I managed to start walking again. As he said, I find myself leaning on my staff more as I try to find my sense of balance again; it felt off when I first started walking with this damn leg, and now it feels off again.

'It won't take all the pain, but it might help.' he peered up at her, finally speaking. 'Did it do any good?' Lukas's palm was still radiating warmth, he didn't need the supporting words now.

He withdrew his hand almost reluctantly, feeling the warmth return back to his heart, circulating his body. Lukas rose to his feet elegantly, grinning. 'Shame I couldn't completely aid it...'

"It's enough." I hesitantly put more weight than I usually would on my right leg, and smile when I find it's easier than it was before. It's by no means completely healed - I'll still have to use the walking stick - but it's better than before. "Thanks."

'You're very welcome.' he placed a finger under her chin, staring into her eyes for a long moment. 'Even hurt, you're still as fierce as ever I see.'
