Quidditch Pitch

He watches Crouch from across the Pitch and his eyes narrow.

Cynder sat in the bleachers at the front.
Her mind was reeling.
She looked down, and her stomach clenched up, doing flips like her mind.

Closing her eyes and turning her head to the sky, she began singing to herself again. Images of two people danced in her mind- Snape and the Opera Ghost.

Jaq shoved Crouch away, his teeth gritted, "I came here, to play some Quidditch, Crouch. Not to have my life threatened by someone who I believed was a brother of the mark." Suspicion and doubt arose in Jaq's eyes again, he glanced at the disappearing back of Cynder and then over at Luke, and then back - anger written all over him, before marching off across the field to join Luke.

-Crazy Grin- Play by my rules Jaq... or you never play at all...

-I start walking back toward the castle-

He flies down and touches to the ground, keeping his angry eyes on Crouch. "Don't let him do that, fight back, he's just a fool who needs a lesson." Luke holds a heavy bludger in his strong arms, it wriggled and squirmed to be free.

"I can't," Jaq snapped, and then shook his head apologetically at his harshness. "Not this way. I was only told to check up on Crouch, not to fight him to the death." He turned to gaze furiously at the 'head death eater'. "He's changed."

"Sent? By who?" He throws the Bludger away and catches it firmly as it whizzes back to him. Crouch soon disappeared and he reverted his gaze to Cynder. "Is she a DE?"

Cynder watched Crouch walking away, Luke landing, and Jaq standing.

But the ground was a dizzyingly long way away from her, and she shuddered and swallowed down bile that rose to her mouth.
With a small, deep sigh she leaned back.
Doozying...

He snorted, "So they say. Or was, though I doubt even that. Some call her traitor and such." His eyes narrowed, "Another one yet gone unpunished. This place has gone to the dogs. Traitors, auror pups, and blood traitors everywhere."

Luke chortles. "And yet it's fine that I don't Eat Death?" He looks down at his bare wrist.

The girl stood and sauntered dizzily down the bleacher steps again, once more onto the pitch. She stood for a moment, taking time to regain a sober stomach.
She swallowed down bile and shuddered slightly, taking in a deep breath.
She paid no mind to Luke or Jaq.

His eyes narrowed at Luke's wrist, "I like to pretend that your wrist isn't absolutely bare, but as long as you're loyal to the Pureblood way. You'll reach your senses soon enough." He clapped a hand on Luke's shoulder. "Just be the pureblood you are. Now. Flying. Before I go back at him with a beater's club."

Cynder turned for a moment to stare after the two boys on the field.
That stranger... had she heard him be called Luke..?
He seemed.... different... and he had been there to hear her sing...
but none the less...

Cynder raised a hand and gave a soft wave to the both of them before sauntering away towards the Black Lake.

He pauses for a second, a small grin creeping up the side of his mouth. "Actually, I'd like to see that. But no, flying is a lot more entertaining." He summons another broom, wrinkling his nose at the un-pristine quality of the thing and passes it to Jaq. He looks at Cynder, frowning. "She attention seeking?"

He took the broom, still seething. He looked disgusted at the dirtiness of it, "Disgusting. This has probably been touched by all sorts of desperate mudbloods." But still, he wasn't about to throw the broom down in a tantrum and not fly. "Alright, you're on."
He looked at Cynder, "No idea. But if she is... then she'll get a really," his face darkened, "pleasant surprise."

-meredia shivered as the wind bit mercilessly into her skin. this was the day everyone would know who she was just by looking at the colour robes she wore, be judged by the colour of her tie. she sat in one of the stands, futilely hoping she didn't have to be sorted later-

Luke laughs, a little detached than normal as he continued to look at Cynder. Finally he kicks off and feels the familiar exhilaration of flying. Blonde-brown hair, messy to begin with, whipped around his face. He pulls to a halt and looks down at Jaq. "You coming then, or are you enjoying watching me?"

OOC Not at all Meredia!

Jaq smirked and kicked off from the ground, gliding easily upwards. "You should be glad I'm not on the Quidditch team, you'd all look pathetic in comparison. Pity, but as I am too busy..."

"Oh go brush your hair, Nott." He laughs and does a flip then flies off.

-meredia decided to spend the whole day there, aimlessly casting her eyes over the people practicing, showing very little interest. she knew dumbledore would have to drag her to the GH if he wanted her sorted-

Jaq sped after him, the quaffle in his hands, "Oi, Yaxley! Heads up!" He threw the quaffle at Luke.

He caught it easily and tucked it under his arm. Swooping under Jaq with incredible speed he flipped over until he was on the other side, facing Jaq's back. He threw it with as much force as he could muster at his head. "Head's up, bro!"

Jaq dived, soaring along beneath the quaffle and catching it easily in his hands. He snorted at Luke, "I thought the aim of the game was to pass to team mates when they could actually see you? Must lose a lot of quaffles your way."
