'because the way you were dealing with this were not right, crouch.' I sigh. 'You think i dont hate them just as much for everything? If i could reverse time and do something, crouch, i would. But this...revenge, the obsession you had with it....it stopped you being my brother, the person i loved and adored and would do anything for. it made you a monster. All i wanted was to stop the monster and get my brother back...'

Crouch smiled at her, half crazily and half sincerely, "Well, looks like the world has a funny way of messing with things doesn't it?"

I shake my head. 'Its not the world messing with things...its just...us being different.' I sigh. 'I miss you, Crouch.'

"There's nothing of me to miss. I will always belong to the dark. The dark of obscurity, the dark of rejection, the dark arts..."

"I am the embodiment of blackness itself. It isn't too late for you to join the darkness River. We can stamp on not only the Ministry's but order itself's throat..."

'Crouch...You know that i will never join the darkness. But nor will i be with the other side. I live in the shades of grey between you both, trying to stop you all killing each other. You belong to darkness...I dont belong anywhere. not really.'

"Order, chaos, black, gray..." Crouch muttered to himself in a sing-song voice, "So many contradictions..."

'What are you talking aabout?'

"Us of course! And the lie of peace..."

'Its not a lie'

"Is that so? Then tell me, why do you have the stone with you?"

"Then you wouldn't be opposed to leaving the stone right in the center of the room, away from me and then back away from it as a gesture of good faith..."

'Its just a stone crouch. I dont understand why your so defensive.'

"Don't insult my intelligence. I know exactly what that is capable of..."

'It cant do anything! Its just a stone. Useless. ..'

"And so the fact that it can remove magic has NO bearing on your mind?" He asked sarcastically.

'Your dying and im stopping. what would be the use of using it?'

"Believe me sister, it's always best to have a backup plan because the worst is going to happen..."

'Oh? and whats your plan?'

"Oh, I've got some underway... First one is fixing myself up. And then the rest is kind of up in the air..." He lied evenly.
