He almost left the common room before he spotted Mer. "Hey, did you see this?" he asked, showing her the flier.

Meredia started giggling, more out of irony than actual humour. 'I don't see anything Tide.'

"I guess you don't use your dreamwalker sight as much as you used to. Okay, so there's a quidditch match Wednesday. Gryffindor versus Slytherin! I get to play in a game!"

'Would you like me to watch?' she tried to look excited, but there was a downtrodden element to her expression. Meredia was happy for him, but she was also preoccupied with other thoughts.

His smile faded. "What's wrong Mer?" He reached out to touch her arm.

She clamped down on her bottom lip, opening her arms for a hug but not wanting to explain. Mer knew if she talked about it she'd start crying. 'Amaya's abandoned me... permanently. My only sister left here has gone insane, she hates me.'

Remaining overly calm when she spoke, she tried to remain positive anyway.

He held her tightly, gently rubbing her back. "It's okay Mer, it'll get better. I promise." he murmured.

ic 'I'm sorry Tide, i'm raining on your parade. I'm happy for you, i really am.' she buried her face in his shirt, finally relaxing and accepting the comfort.

He shook his head. "It's okay Mer. You need my help and comfort right now. I'm here for you."

ic 'I promise by the time the match comes i'll be happy, and i'll support you all the way. I'll use my dreamwalker sight.' she offered a thin smile even though he couldn't see her face, latching her arms around his waist and keeping him close.

He smiled and held her tightly. "Okay. Save your sight for then. I know this match will be one to remember."

"I'm Tide Dimitrov, son of Vasily Dimitrov, the greatest chaser the Bulgarian National team has ever know." He looked at her, confidence in his voice. "A handful of Slytherins don't scare me."

'Your arrogance is exactly why you should, you should never underestimate anyone, that's how Crouch got kicked out of school. He thought he was supreme overlord and nobody could shake him.' she spoke quietly, but she was pointing out facts.

He leaned down, close enough to kiss her, and breathed, "I can be cocky off the field, but on the field I never underestimate my opponents."

'Good answer.' she closed the distance, giving him a chaste kiss before breaking it off just as quickly, smiling to herself. 'Overconfidence comes with the greatest price.'

Crouch: "Tell me about it..."

He nodded. "One of the reasons I am not a Slytherin."

He nodded his head. "Yeah they probably would."

She chuckled again, giving him a small squeeze. 'You'll kick their asses, i'm sure.'

He laughed. "Well I don't know about physically or magically, but in quidditch I can definitely kick some ass."

'I believe in you.' she kissed his cheek, grinning. 'I always will Tide.'
