'If I was stronger she wouldn't have wanted to protect me and she wouldn't have been in this situation!' she shot to her feet, kicking one of the walls angrily, tears still streaming from her eyes.

He sighed. "Mer, you are not weak. How many times must I tell you this before you get it? You're in Gryffindor. That's not something that they sort the weak into."

He reached up and touched her hand gently. "Come, sit back down."

'Then how is it everyone gets to me? I can't even defend myself properly!' she collpased to her knees beside him, curling up into the fetal position.

He put his arms around her again. "Because you let them." He hated that she got Hirt and walked on by everyone else.

Her face contorted into a scowl. 'I don't let them, i fight against them, but it's useless. I'm just pathetic, and everyone knows it.' She tensed in his arms.

"You're not pathetic. Nor are you weak or useless. Damn it Meredia, will you stop saying that about yourself?" His voice was slightly raised. It frustrated him when he told her uplifting things and she did nothing but bring herself down again.

'I can't deal with this right now.' she became completely rigid, keeping her tone level but pain and annoyance was clear in her blind eyes.

"Fine." He stood up and walked back to the chair where he was sitting. He picked up the book and began to assend the stairs to the boys dorm.

She brought her knees to her chest, wrapping her arms around them. Shivering with the draught, Mer tried to keep her sobs to a minimum, but the loneliness wasn't helping as more tears streamed down her paling face.

Don't go.. but the words couldn't escape her mouth.

Halfway up the stairs he heard her sobs. He stopped and closed his eyes. He couldn't go any farther.

He turned around and walked back to her, dropping the book on a nearby table. He sat down next to her and took her in his arms. He didn't say anything, just held her.

She also remained wordless for a moment, clinging to him as if she would fall apart without him.'I'm sorry..' she buried her face in his chest, uncaring she was making his shirt damp.

"Shh, don't say anything babe." He stroked her hair gently. He held onto her and let her cry out all her tears.

she seemed to almost meld into his arms, attached to the comfort he brought her, never wanting to release him as more tears fell.

He began humming an old Bulgarian lullaby that his mother would used to sing to him when he cried. He stroked her hair still and kissed her head.

The tears eventually slowed, and she tilted her chin up to peer into his eyes. 'Thank you Tide, please don't leave me.' her arms tightened around him.

He shook his head. "I'm not going to leave you." He kissed her forehead. "Never," he said in Bulgarian.

'you almost did...' she sighed and chewed at her lip, she always managed to say stupid things.

He laughed. "I was mad. I was walking it off." He smiled at her. "I meant, I'll never leave you, like I'll never break up with you. You're a part of my life now, and hopefully forever."

The words made her stop and think for a moment, before her eyes creased up with a small glimmer of happiness.
'Break up with me if you want to of course, but...I don't want you to go anywhere.'
Mer placed her lips on his delicately, before letting her head fall to his chest again.

Ic "I'm not going anywhere." He smiled and tilted her chin up to plant another small kiss on her lips.

She finally relaxed in his arms, shifting so she was perched on his lap. 'I love you, remember that please.' she kissed the crook of his neck with a soft smile, feeling slightly better.

'You almost did.' she corrected, but she let it drop. Mer sighed and listened to his heartbeat contently, feeling safe again.

He walked through the common room, headed to the exit, but a flier caught his eye on the billboard. He walked over to it and took a closer look.

QUIDDITCH MATCH WEDNESDAY

Gryffindor vs Slytherin

Game starts at noon.

Tide was filled with excitement. He almost jumped with joy. "Where's Mer? I gotta show her this." He pulled the flier off the bildboard and went to look for her.

OOC Jsyk that probably isn't gonna be the actual time it starts (timezones and all) so I'll just post in the Sharing Space section just before the game starts.
