'I'm sorry for giving a shit about my family Phoenix.' she muttered under her breath, but loud enough for the girl to hear. Picking up nearly all of her blades, she began a continuous motion of throwing them, trying to let her surge of rage out.

"I'm sorry for wanting to spend just a little bit of time with my boyfriend," I say quietly, speaking to a clump of grass.

'Think about it, if he hasn't been spending time with his family or his girlfriend, what the unicorn has he been doing?' where has anyone been?

Why am i alone? She shoved the thought out of her head, throwing the knives more haphazardly the more she carried on.

I take a while to answer, watching her. "He was trying to get revenge on Crouch. He told me."

'IDIOT!' she finally yelled, fists clenched around the sharp end of the metal in her hand, ignoring the searing pain up her arm. 'Revenge kills people... he never listens..'

I wince at her shout, but don't disagree with her. "It was too late by the time he told me, Jack Nuel already paid the price. Crouch stole his magic."

'Jack..' her hand faltered, the now bloodied knife slipping out of her grasp and clattering to the grass. 'That's why the bitch didn't visit me.'

"Yeah. They teamed up and tried to go after Crouch..."

'Gathered.' she snapped too sharply in response, why did people feel the need to spell it out for her. Amaya closed her fingers over her cut palm, it was beginning to sting so she just ignored it.

'But whatever, they're back so everyone can go back to flying on rainbows.'

"May, don't be like that. They screwed up, I know, but what's done is done." I get up, taking a hesitant step towards her, holding out my hand. "Here," I say gently. "Let me help with that."

'No, i don't need help.' she was overtly stubborn, but she couldn't care, yanking out her own wand and muttering a spell to dilute the pain.

'What's done is done, gotta keep moving on, YOLO.' she scoffed, knowing she was being entirely unreasonable.

"Amaya." I cross my arms, tired of this. "Jesus Christ, you know what I mean. We can't go back and change it, can we?"

ic 'I can still be angry, or would it upset the princess too much?' she practically snarled at Phoenix, deliberately trying to push her buttons now.

"You have every right to be angry at them, May, don't get me wrong." I narrow my eyes, but show no other signs of irritation. It'll only make things worse, after all. "I'm just saying we can't change it."

ic 'Then shut up and let me be angry! You've no idea what i've been through the last two months Phoenix, i've been held prisoner in my own head.' her teeth had clenched, picking up the bloodied blade with her other hand and chucking it away from her.

I bite my tongue and stay quiet for a moment, gathering my wits. "Rant if you want, you know I'm always here to listen to whatever you want to say."

'No, I'll spare your feelings.' she exhaled, but her breathing was shaky and clearly hard to control. 'I just want my family back, including the ones still alive.'

"You can't keep it all bottled up. I'm here if you need me." Before she can push me away, I put my hand on her shoulder and squeeze it gently, then take a step back.

In that moment her aggressive resolve faltered, the contact making her want to scream yet cry at the same time. Amaya turned on her heel, catching the hand and pulling Phoenix into a hug.

'Come here dude.'

I hug her tightly, glad that we're back on friendly terms so quickly. "You only needed to ask," I say quietly, smiling.

Amaya's volatile, what did you expect?

ic 'I ain't gonna ask nothing of ya.' she was careful not to place her bloodied palm on Phoenix's back, hugging with her other hand. 'Just didn't want you to hate me.'

"I could never hate you, May. I can't hate my family, can I?" I roll my eyes. "Honestly."

'Family only get hugs from me you know.' she carefully pulled herself away, perching back on the grass with her legs folded. 'Ignore me, i'm fed up of being a softie sometimes.'

"Yeah, you're better at being badass." I chuckle, sitting beside her.

'If i still was who i used to be, i wouldn't be married, and i certainly wouldn't be on my family's side in the war, i'd be doing whatever the unicorn i wanted.'

Amaya seemed to dislike the responsibility, but tried not to show Phoenix. 'Nope, not that unpredictable anymore.'
