St Mungos Hospital for Magical Maladies and Injurys

Heather raises a brow, more curious than nervous.  "Oh? What did you discover?"

He spoke in a monotone and extremely quickly, like a machine, "You have a father, single parent, Dr. Brown. I'm assuming divorce. Also, one sibling, Harvey Brown. You grew up together, extremely close. He was the more sensitive child and often drew comfort from you for some reason. Your father would often let you observe his work, most likely where your obsession began."

"I can give your family home's address if you so wish..."

"Well well, it seems we're more alike than we seem..."

"Don't be stupid. I do what I do because you're a criminal and need to be stopped."

"You're not so far from being a criminal yourself... In other perspectives you could be a criminal the way you are now."

"Not possible." He dismissed her.

"Look at it from your wife's perspective.  It's very criminal of you to constantly leave her with her psychological and current physical condition obsessively chasing another woman... It's extremely criminal in Liria Strayer's eyes."

"No legal infractions. Moral infraction I grant you, but not legal."

"But you're one step away from it... I'm sure by now you would very much like to see Raven dead.  That would be practical on your part, but it would violate the one rule you live by..."

"What I would like isn't relevant."

"Are you so sure about that?  Simply thinking about something can eventually turn into reality.  You're not as sane as you would think."

"That's way I don't think about it. I will not kill Raven. That's all there is to it. My honor forbids me."

"Oh, but the mind is much more complicated than that... There's always a chance that she'll cross whatever line you have and you'll throw your honor out the window."

"Not possible."

"Anything is possible, Mr. Strayer.  Some things are just more improbable than others."

"Not that."

Heather scribbles down on her paper, "You're in denial.  It's okay to accept things, Mr. Strayer.  In fact, acceptance is one of the first steps towards healing."

"This conversation serves no purpose." He informed her as he turned himself as much as he could away from her.

Heather writes it all down, not missing one detail.  "Maybe not for you...  But to move on to other matters... Did you know your brother spotted Raven and didn't arrest her?"

He turned his head to look over his shoulder at her. "She's difficult to defeat. If you don't believe me, be my guest and try." He told her coldly.

"He didn't even fight her.  He talked to her, actually..."

One logical candidate.

"Sound..."

"How does that make you feel, Crest? The fact that your brother, the supposed 'Head Strayer' merely talks to the one person who has caused you and your family the most harm rather than arresting her on sight?" Heather asks curiously, studying him for any kind of reaction.

He kept his composure, clearing his mind as he had been instructed to do. "He is the Head Strayer. Not me. His choices are not mine to question." His words to him held the validity of the gospel, as well as the power.

"Who are you trying to convince, me or yourself?"
