A face of pure amusement rolled over the Nightmare King's face, and he gave a toothy grin, a chuckle of pure velvet. His voice was mocking.

"What a liar I have on my hands...."

"You idiot, what COULD love me."

OOC SO sorry Cyn, but I got only 30 min of sleep last night and am dead exhausted... night

"Oh, it hardly matters what loves you... it'll only mean that there will be no one to defend your sanity when I drain it out of you..."
Pitch's smile grew wider. The sword turned to only darkness and wound around his wrists and became part of him.
"Let's see what you're scared of, shall we?"

"Go ahead, you'll find nothing.."

"Nothing? We shall see..."

Pitch's grin vanished as he phased into the shadows, reappearing again behind Brogan, gently pacing in an intimidating, predatory way.
His golden eyes were arrows, piercing and cold.

OOC behind his bravado, Brogan actually cares for one of Amy's characters named Saphire. You can choose how this happens

Brogan turned around to try to fight him, "Crucio!"

Pitch did not even bother to duck out of the way, letting the curse hit him straight on.

Unlike any puny mortal might, he did not crumple or succumb to screams of pain. Tough he grimaces, Pitch continued to walk calmly, unbothered, around Brogan.
Pain stabbed at his insides, but for now he showed no signs of it.

"You say you have no one you care for... but this is a lie.."

"Well I say you're an idiot..."

"Well I say you're just stubborn.."



Pitch gave a cruel grin and a chuckle, though he stumbled lightly in his step; he was still weak, and this curse was draining his strength quickly.

"I see a name... someone you could easily care for.... Let us see..... Sophie...? No, of course not... S-.... Saphire...? Is that it, boy?"

The lad growled and charged forward like a burnt rhinoceros, shooting several spells in a fit of rage.

The Nightmare King did not step away or back, but sunk into the shadows just as Brogan was about to hit him straight on.

Any curses seemed to phase through him, just as if he were made of darkness, himself.

He reappeared just behind the boy and gave a low chuckle.
"Oohh.... I see I struck a nerve....."

"And I'm going to strike a ho.e through your head in a minute!" He shouted furiously continuing the barrage.

"We'll see about that, child..."


Nightmare sand rose to form a large horse under the man. Around them, people in the streets were panicking. Seeing the dark beast, it struck fear into others around them.


Pitch gave a cackle.
"Come then... let's take a little nap, shall we?"

He growled, "useless cowards..."

"Fine then,bring it on!"

The Nightmare King gave a long laugh and steered his mare around, kicking her forward so she raced toward Brogan. A ball of the dark sand formed in the man's fingers and he cocked his arm back to throw the dark substance toward the mortal.

He seemed to be waiting for it, confident in his ability to resist fear.

(( going to sleep. Wish me luck at the zombie run tomorrow! ))

As he got nearer to Brogan, Pitch hurled the wad of Nightmare Sand to the opposite with a shout of ferocious bravery.
As usual, the sand would coax Brogan into a nightmare-filled sleep.

Brogan fell to the ground asleep

As soon as the boy was asleep, Pitch sunk into his dreams, the dark overpowering like a tidal wave, suffocating and cruel.

The only sound for the moment, was the Nightmare King's laugh. It echoed, like velvet, coming from all directions.
"How long has it been since you've had a nightmare, Brogan? Hmm? Well, it matters not... now is the start of a long time with them."

"Ha, give it a try... fear is for the weak..."

Pitch gave a cruel grin and chuckled.
"Perhaps it is the fear for yourself that is weak to you. But let me assure you, Brogan... fear for another is so much stronger."


Another smooth cackle.
The dark being appeared just behind the boy, an image of Saphire clutched in his hands.
She was life-sized, and exact in how she looked compared to the real version.

Of course, this image of the girl struggled, looking panicked and scared. Pitch was clutching to her, one long-fingered hand clamped about her neck.
"What'll it be, then, boy?"

Brogan just stared at the two, not moving an inch.

'Go ahead. I know she's fake."

Pitch's grin faltered for a fraction of a second.
This boy was getting more and more on his nerves.


"... of course she is. But isn't that the worst part? Knowing that even though this version is fake, the real one can still suffer every horrible torture I might be able to send her?"

"No, because I know she isn't..." he turned his back to the dark one coldly and began walking away.

Pitch's smile completely faded, his jaw dropping and his golden eyes widening.
This was impossible!


His shocked look turned quickly to a snarl of hatred, crushing the phantom figure of Saphire in his fingers.

"You're so sure of yourself.... wait and see, child... wait and see."
