"Oh even better than that! It'll also disorientate him for a time..."

"Good, though it would be immoral of us to take advantage of him in such a state. I suggest we drain him of his powers then return him to the Death Eaters in his weakened state. It's only fair after all."

Lewis checked the cobwebs on his hand again. The spider had caught a fly in the web, and was now wrapping it in a web cocoon.

"I don't know, it might be best to euthanize him..."

"But it's immoral to take advantage of his weakened state." Lewis held up his hand, showing Eugene the spider and fly in the cobwebs "See, this spider has the fly trapped and useless. Though he doesn't kill him straight away, he gives him a chance to break free and save his own life." Lewis lowered his hand again "Besides, if we killed him, we wouldn't be much better than the Death Eaters would we?"

"Perhaps you're correct, but would anyone truly miss him?"

"There is no doubt at least one person would acknowledge his loss, and I'm not willing to take anybody's life anyway, no matter what crimes they may have committed. Everyone deserves a second chance, perhaps this is a perfect opportunity for him."

"I find the odds of Crouch seeking true redemption to be negligible at best..."

"Nevertheless, he still deserves the chance. If you or anyone else tries to kill him in his weakened state, I'll defend him with my life."

"I wouldn't recommend that course of action but I cannot dissuade you..."

"If we kill him, then we'll have no idea in what sort of way the solution will effect his body exactly. If you don't want to keep him alive, just think about the research that would be lost if we did kill him."

I sigh, "curse my scientific curiosity..."

"Anyway, I suppose I should prepare for the coming battle." Lewis slouched off his seat and began walking to the door "Unless there's anything else you want to talk about?"

"Yes, one more thing..."

Lewis paused at the door.


"What is it?"

I hand him what looks like a wooden stake but it was clearly modified with traces of silver laced into it.

"This is to absorb some of his abilities. It won't be quite as effective as I would've hoped but given that he's attacked the Flames, I'm guessing he will not remain stagnant for long. My hypothesis is he'll start systematically hunting the rest of the families so I had no time to make it absolute."

Lewis took the stake from Eugene.

"And you know it'll work?"

"I haven't tested it as throughly as I would've preferred, but it seemed to affect both vampiric and werewolf blood samples so I believe it will be safe to use."

"Well then. I have a long nap ahead of me. If I never see you again Eugene, good luck with your future."

Lewis turned and exited the dungeons.

"Good bye Lewis, and good luck..."

Crouch was in the middle of testing the new sort of flame he got from Elijah. Should it work to his expectations, he could deal with the growing thorn in his side known as Leon.
