"Ok."

Daniel lay down on his bed staring at his ceiling, wondering if he'd finally managed to control his powers, and whether he could actually help people. He lifted his head to see the girl still there.

"Shouldn't you be reporting back to Magneto?"

'What do you want me to stay?' she wanted to know, trying to formulate her report in her mind.

Daniel turned away from her as he blushed slightly.

"I don't really care that much." His voice was cracking "It's just that you might get in trouble with Magneto if you don't report back to him. That is why he sent you, right? To check on me?"

'How's he going to know if i'm telling the truth?' she tried to sound reassuring, confident even. 'I already told you, i'm not going to spill your secret.'

"I'm not worried about that." Daniel turned to her, mustering his courage "I'm worried about you; what Magneto might do to you if you don't do what he says."

Daniel turned away quickly after saying this, not being able to look her in the eyes out of embarrassment.

'I have done what he says. He wanted me to check on you, I'm doing exactly that. How am i going to get into trouble?' she cocked her head to one side almost stubbornly.

"I apologise. As I said before, I assumed he'd sent you to see if I'd learnt to control my powers yet. I can see now that is not the case. Leave. Or stay. I don't really care."

'I don't really have anything else to do but get my ass kicked by a politician.' she muttered half-heartedly, laughing at her own joke.

Daniel winked at her.

'It already happened a few hours ago.' she confessed, twirling a golden lock around her finger. 'I went to scare this guy and he kicked me into a wall. I wasn't expecting him to be a mutant at all.'

"Well there's still the person you fought in my vision. Keep in mind I can only see the future. And if he kicks there's a chance it's the same guy."

"All that matters is you know you won't die. I changed the future so that no matter how much you don't want to you're going to teleport out of that fight for whatever reason."

Daniel had no tolerance for arrogance.

"Fine. When it comes to the point where you feel the absolute urge to teleport away, do it. Then just teleport right back."

Daniel didn't feel comfortable revealing the secrets to besting fate, but eh couldn't just save her to let her die by the hands of Magneto.

'D-don't worry i-' she stammered, hiding her face in her hands. 'I'm just so scared of messing things up, it took me so long to get Magneto's attention. I can't fail now.'

"Don't worry; you'll have me looking out for you."

Daniel jokingly tried to use his powers again. Though using little effort, it still caused blood to run from his nose.
