Early Years

"It's sad your not as smart as your daughter." Kara's father replied standing up

Kara came back running back in, her eyes wide

Enzo looked troubled by his daughter's recent seceding.

"I'm leaving with them, and you can't stop me.." Agatha stepped over to Kara and her father.

Kara's father held his daughter close, welcoming Agatha next to him, glaring determinedly at Enzo.
"Kara, can you get us out of here darling?" Kara squeezed her eyes shut, concentrating

Enzo ran toward them, "I refuse!! You cannot leave!" He tried to cast his bad luck on the child but Agatha shield the girl with her body, taking the bad luck for her.

Enzo looked appalled by what he'd done. Inferior to him though she was, she was still his flesh and blood.

Kara screamed as a blue light surrounded the three of them, and in a fifth of an instant, they vanished

Agatha once they reappeared fell victim to her father's curse as she fell hard on her leg and a hard snap was heard, "AHHHH!!!!"

Kats father held Agatha for support when her leg crumbled as Kara looked up at Agatha with shinning, innocent eyes
"Can I fix it...?" She asked scared for Agatha

"Y.. yes... I remember enough of my father's teachings to guide you through it..." Agatha nodded weakly.

Kara nodded as her father held Agatha supportively. She stared at Agathas leg, ready to help

"Enzo always taught the key to controlling good luck was focussing on something you love and wanting the best possible outcome for it. But you have to focus extra hard on it. No extraneous thoughts can exist." 

Even with a hurt leg though, Agatha never felt more free in her life, at last she could live her own life.

Kara nodded, a look of distressed nervousness on her face. She concentrated, trying to eliminate other thoughts as she focused on Agatha, her friend's leg to get better, to heal. And as if by a miracle, slowly it started too

Agatha let out a breath of fresh air as the pain in her leg ebbed away, "Ohh... I can't thank you two enough..."

"It makes me happy knowing you'll be away from a man like him." Kara's father replied

Kara then hugged Agatha like a child who'd found a lost sibling

Agatha hugged Kara back as tears began falling from her face, but they were tears of happiness, ones of liberation and freedom. 

"Thankyouthankyouthankyou..."

"So now what will you do?" Kara's father asked

"Mine wish to go be with Mael, if he'll take me on, what will you do?"

"Before all of this...I was going to visit my wife's old home with Kara. Just to show her what it was like."
Kara hugged snugly in her fathers arms

"Would... you mind if I came with you?" She was dying to see what a normal family life was like.

Kara's father shook his head
"Not at all" he replied kindly while Kara gave a sweet smile back

"Thank you..." She bowed graciously to them, as though honoring a god.

"My wife taught me to be more gracious." He smiled and showed them to the plane

She stepped on with them, and took a seat, and upon doing so felt an odd lightheadedness before the plane even start moving. But she dismissed it as nothing.

"You.. speak a lot of your wife, who was she?"

Kara's father chuckled "pardon me for sounding cliche but...when I met her, it was like angels had revealed themselves to me. I couldn't see anything wrong with her. She was perfect..." Kara slowly fell asleep in the window seat. "It was strange though, at certain times she would be calmer, more kindly and relaxed. But other times, she would stand on our roof with her arms open. A word to describe Katrina would be daring, she learned from fear instead of cowering before it." He sighed, as if remembering a good dream in a world of darkness.
"I'm ranting, im sorry."

She smiled at his pleasant recollections, "Oh no please, do go on if you have more!"

He shook his head
"It's fine, but would you mind telling me something?"
He lowered his voice "who was that man? You said he was your father but...what did he want with Kara?" Kara slept soundly in her seat
