He waved his wand to repair the wall, "want me to stay near you tonight river?"

I nod and climb back into my bed, my eyes closed

Heather is sitting in the doctors office, waiting for her father to emerge. Sometimes he brings her here, but at other times she sneaks in. When he does bring her here, so she's not at home alone, he doesn't know that she eavesdrops on his sessions with the patients.

Dr. Brown stepped inside of his office, talking into a tape, "Another session with Mr. Crane. He seems to be developing a unique phobia to birds of the night like owls or bats. I believe this stems from an early childhood incident but I have yet to identify the trigger..."

IC She puts her ear up against the door, trying her best to hear what her father is saying.

"Heather... are you listening in again?"

She gasps, biting her lip, "No!!" She says innocently, even though she just gave away that she was.

"Heather, I'm a trained psychologist, AND your father, I think I can tell when you're lying or not..." Even though he was scolding her lightly, he smirked at his daughters interest and gestured for her to come forward to sit next to him.

She smiles, sitting next to her father. This has to be a minor case, or else he wouldn't let her come in.

BACK TO THE FUTURE!!!!!

"Mr. Crane's phobias seem to have gotten worse.." He told his daughter as he wrote some notes on his papers.

"How so?" She asks with great interest.

"Today he had a panic attack upon seeing a owl, and he insist that a giant bat was out to get him afterwards. Took a whole 20 minutes to get him to open up about it."

He smirked and shook his head with a sigh, "Fascinating me..."

"Wow... So he has a fear of harmless birds?"

"It seems to be the case. Man I wish I could just keep him and study every aspect..."

"Why can't you, daddy?" She asks innocently.

"Well, you see, only those who are TRULY classifiably insane can be held in the asylum for treatment."

"Oh... What happens to the crazy people in the asylum?"

"Well, they're subjected to a variety of test and procedures to try and get to the bottom of what's wrong with them."

Her eyes widen with great interest, "Can I ever go into an asylum, Daddy?"

"Now now Heather, my dear.. I can allow you to be around for basic theraphy, but you need to be especially qualified to enter the asylum. Those that stay there are hard core psychotics, far above what you could handle."

"Oh..." She says, disappointed. Then she looks up again, "What about when I'm older?"

"Well we'll see about that!" He patted her head, a proud father, "I'm sure you could be a psychologist in the future. You're a very observant and intelligent girl, I'm sure you can do it my dear."

She giggles and smiles, feeling happy at her father's confidence in her.
