"I just did. I fucked up my last shot." He fell silent for a few seconds, looking down at his hands. He broke the silence with a whisper. "He's going to kill me." There was no masking the fear in his voice.

'I wont let him.' Her voice hardened, her eyes narrowing. 'Death.' She stood and crouched down in front of him, taking his hands. 'Believe me when i say this. if he, or anyone else even tries to touch you, they will regret it.'

He reached out and touched her cheek with his hand. "No! I don't want you to get hurt because of me. I fucked up, now I need to take my punishment."

"Yeah," He leaned back and smirked. "Let's see, what do I want to do first? Go to a bar, drink myself senseless. Party till I pass out. Wake up with the worst hangover, then do it all over again." He nodded. "Yep, sounds good."

He looked down at River and winked, laughing.
