I stop as I hear this part, and start looking around me as though looking for an escape route.

The girl burst into laughter, laying back on the grass, still giggling. 'You're so predictable and selfish sometimes! you think everything's going to go right if you don't give a little?'

"That's kinda the hope..." I admit, but deep down I feel this odd, entrapment. Like if I cared about someone elses needs over mine, I'd lose a part of me.

'Listen Joachim, i understand it, i really do... you don't need to put someone else first, you just need to put their needs on level with yours sometimes. If you think hard enough you can always find a way to benefit both of you.'

She paused, phrasing her words carefully. 'You managed to put Sapphire first... once, so im not losing all hope in you. If you want, i could help you.' she actually felt nervous for a change, unsure how he'd react.

I look back into her eyes, a little downtrodden but with a smirk, "Why help the big bad Chimera?"

"Well guess what Maya?"

"I think..."

Just then three boys are walking past the park, all of them in uproarious laughter.

Joey: "Oh man Tim! You finally became an auror!"

Tim: "Yeah, oh man that was hard, I need to blow off some steam after those test..."

David: "Oh hey look!" I point into the playground, "It's that homeless kid with the weird name! He's back!"

Tim: "HEy that's perfect! It'd be just like the old days!"

Tim walks over and smugly looks at them, "Hey there, homeless joe! How much did you beg for this one?" I gesture at Amaya.

Joachim: "No, YOU may have to pay for dates... but not me. Now beat it."

Tim: "Nah... I'm ready for another round. Same rules as before, if you beat me I'll give you 20 galleons." His friends laugh at the mocking but suddenly stop as Joachim punches him in the gut as soon as the words left.

I turn and look, surprised she actually helped me in the fight for nothing in return.

The friends pull out the knifes she threw and run for it, leaving Tim behind.

"Alright Tim... how many did did you do this to me as a kid? Let's call it 50 times, and my math's not the best but I hope you got a 1000 galleons on you!" I start beating on him with my old harbored anger.

Amaya accio'd her knives back, shoving them swiftly into her belt and watching for a long moment. She wasn't exactly morally righteous herself, she didn't know whether to step in.

She continued her observation, wand now at the ready just in case.

I keep beating on him, not taking any precautions or attempts to hold back whatsoever, "What do you think now you snoot? LIKE that!"

The girl pulled the bloodied man away forcefully, making sure he was at least conscious. 'That's enough now Joachim. if you want to hurt someone still, take it out on me.' it was the same offer she'd given whilst he was under the effects of crouch's potion.

My anger seems to ebb away little by little, like a vine that was just receding after the winter,

"No way..."

A genuine, simple smile played on her lips as she simply sent the bleeding man on his way. 'good, i have faith in you after all. You didn't get hurt, did you?' she looked him over.

"Nah.. I'm good, thanks though..."
