Pitch's voice was harsh, disgruntled, as he yanked Cynder ludely into his body.
His expression switched quickly, and he gave an amused croon as she tried to struggle out of his muscular and strong grip.

"... never fight against what is in your heart, Christopher. Or I will force the darkness to destroy you."

"Of course, I would want you to!"

"Good."

Pitch glowered thoughtfully to Topher for a good moment before raising a hand and waving dismissively to him.
"roam where you wish. I have a dove to break in..."

The girl had her arms looped around a tree branch, hoisting herself upwards and dangling from it. She hadn't seen Joachim in ages, or anyone for that matter.

'Like i fucking care.' she reassured herself, adopting her usual blank yet inanely bored expression.

With Heather's book now published and out, at the very least new thoughts about me are springing to mind. I couldn't expect to win people to my side just yet. People aren't as stupid as I half imagined. They still vividly remember my actions.

Making a psychologist do my bidding was a grand idea though. Her 'tell-all' book about me should at least create some confusion if nothing else.

Today I decided to test it's effectiveness by walking around on school grounds. My reception was less than welcoming, as was to be expected. Some even threw things at me. It would seem Bryn has brought some backbone to this place. I shall relish tearing his out.

'Hey asswipe.' she experimented, dropping to the ground in front of him with a neat thud. If anything, Amaya had a little time to exercise, so she'd gotten slightly more agile. The girl was simply trying her luck, preparing to be either cursed or embraced.

Depends which line he tries to sell me.

'Okay let me guess, you're trying the born again Christian act?' she offered, not buying it. That would seriously be annoying.

"No act. No schemes, nothing like that. I'm trying to turn over a new leaf." I even had myself convinced, and if worst came to worst, I had a way to convince them.

'Ite then.' she concluded, taking a step closer to him. 'What about the Death Eaters? Your wife Amy?'

"My wife is behind me, 100% of the way. As for the Death Eaters, they don't yet know of my betrayal. I'm hoping to keep it that way. Perhaps give us some intel."

'Living the life of a spy will get you killed, that's what happened to Sydnay anyway, you were the one that killed her.' she persisted, cocking her head to the side, scrutinising his every move.

"I'm not saying I don't have a lot to atone for because I would be lying if I said that."

My feet remained firmly in the ground, resolute, sticking to my claims.

'Damn right you do. How about you start with an apology?' she was fighting to keep a sneer off her face.

"Should I begin with Sydnay or...?"

'Everything.' she almost demanded, taut lipped.

Apologize for what? Getting rid of the scum? Doing to them what they did to me?! The indignations, the humiliations, the suffering?! You all should apologize to me for what you do...

But my plan required I act pitiful...

Taking a kneel of penitence, I utter the words as heartfelt as possible, "I'm sorry, for all the horrors I had wrought."

'Okay..now apologise to me. I never done shit to you but you wouldn't get off my back.' she still watched him through narrowed eyes, she wasn't done yet.

This part I was actually sorry for, had I acted with less arrogance I could've had a valuable ally.

Who knows, if the dominoes fall my way I might be able to rope her into my side.

"I'm terribly sorry for that too..."

ic She nodded slowly, still wary. Who wouldn't be? he'd killed her sister, hurt her family numerous times..

'I'll forgive you if you can hug me.' was her final proposition, gauging his reaction. Hugs apparently tell you everything. pfft.

"Well... alright.."

The entire next few seconds played out in my mind like a scene from my favorite book. Stepping forward about two steps. Extending my arms, showing compliance and earning her trust.

Then as soon as I have it, grasp her throat, and squeeze it. Squeeze it until the constriction closes the airways forcibly. She'll make an effort to escape, or fight back more likely but it shall be in vain by that point. Another few moments, and termination is imminent.

That is how the scene I would have loved transpires. But what I actually do, is everything short of the suffocation. Hugging her like a frightened child, unsure of what to do.
