Knockturn Alley

My scowling becomes ever deeper, thinking back to that day, "Yeah... you could say that."

She looked at him more curious than ever "well obviously there's a story there.."

"Let's just leave it at my parents were disappointed their son valued innocent lives."

Her mind raced to her own parents "I'm sorry to hear that.." her gaze and voice had both softened.

"It doesn't matt..." I look down and hold out my arm in front of her to stop us in our tracks as I look down on the ground. Right below where my foot was were lines of ants crawling back to their queen.

"That was close."

She looked down confused "sooo you kill people but wont step on ants..you are a very interesting guy."

"Ants never harmed anyone, they're innocent creatures." I get down on my knees to get a closer look at them as if in marvel,

"Death Eaters are not people, they're things. Evil things at that. They don't deserve the oxygen they waste."

"I guess I can kinda see what you mean.. unless those are fire ants and you happen to be allergic to them.. or Mutillidae which can kill a human..." she was thinking of her mother "what if a Death Eater changed though .. renounced their ways.. would you still want to kill them?" she was interested by this mysterious guy. His perspective quite fascinating."

"Death eaters don't change."

This brought a frown to her lips wondering if he was right, she was quiet as she was sucked back into her thoughts like earlier her blue eyes starring straight at the ground but not really seeing it.

I stand up and look at her, "What has you down?"

She shook her head, everything had been going wrong. First losing Chimmy, then finding out about her parents twisted tale and to top it off she could feel her health starting to decline again. All this was over whelming her as a tear slid down her cheek and she turned away "It's nothing.. maybe I should go.." The last thing she wanted was some guy she didn't even know seeing her completely lose it finally.

"Hey.." I grab her shoulder and turn her around, "I can tell you're good." I wipe the tear away.

She gazed at him "You don't know me though... what if I'm not.."

I turn my gaze to her sleeves and pull them up, not seeing a dark mark, "that's good enough for me."

She sighed a little "I'm the daughter of a Death Eater apparently though.. which would figure. The way my luck's been lately.." she scowled a little part of her wishing she had never found out.

"I'm the son of two Death Eaters, but here I am not one of them. You don't have to pay for the sins of your father or mother."

She slid down the brick wall curling her knees to her chest "I only just found out.. on top of breaking off my engagement .. my head is just full of stupid confusing thoughts right now."

I look down at her, and hold out my hand to her, "Well things won't improve if you wallow in it."

She looked up at him taking his hand lightly "I know you're right, but I guess I've just been ignoring it all.. maybe I needed a little to wallow, but that's not my style" she stood up again a smile twitching across her lips like a secret.

"Listen to me, bottled up pain doesn't do anyone any good. You got to let it loose."

She looked at him for a moment "maybe you should practice what you preach?"

'I do let it loose, refer to dead DE back there."

She shook her head "that's not letting loose! that's killing.. killing isn't fun.. it's like a job for you from the looks of it."

It's a job I take a lot of pride in."
